yea got one myself, for £8 last year. always wanted one of those. as for chinese cash coins, i got a fair few, all are real from what i can see (well the fake ones are obvious anyway)including some very early ones

i find all my bargains on ebay and at my dealers. never any decent boot fairs around here.

the 9 thing, i wouldn't look there there are a few differant 9 styles probably. the thing is, trying to buy one of these in top grade, it would still be hard to find these fakes as the flaws are so minor.

done it once on a commonwealth halfgroat (bit battered still a bugger to buy at around £25+) got a few quid off, but most of my buys are cheap i usualy get a bit off for ease of maths to save change etc.

i lose plenty as well, uisualy because i cant remember where i put them when it comes to looking at them. they usualy do turn up. had a few go missing myself when i moved them about, found them a year later (round things roll under things...)

there are good peole. i bet this guy saw it, knew EXACTLY what it was and wanted to blag it on the cheap themselves.

thing that annoys me is when i look at US systems for varieties, and find they count things that are errors or tiny blamishes as such.

its probably of the period, i have a fake halfpenny from 1958 and a couple of fake 20p's. makes you wonder.

i didn't like the 50p though, thought it was a bit small for the coin. i prefer the bunhead. as for the 1935 crown, you have to remember, the design it got was the fashion of the time.

this was my fave for many years, when I started up, saw it in the window of my dealer (he had moved and stumbled across it when my dad was going to a camera shop) saw it in the window for a mere £2. not special or valuable but £2 for something so old, its fantastic probably my trophy UK coin, rarer then the farthing, got off ebay for £1+postage with a normal 1879 in similar grade, surprised as it was listed as both types on the auction, hard to get this variety

when I found a shilling in an old moneybox. star coins, not really got anything extra special, I have some rare bits and pieces. this is the most valuable, only 500,000 minted getting one of these will cost a good £60-70, I found in in the 10p tin at my dealers (odd this, he usualy sells the better dates for a bit more as well) this for £6 when I got it I just knew it for what I bought it as, an 1858 farthing, which I got because I wanted an example of the design at the time, on a limited budget, when I researched it last year I realised what it is, it is the small date version, and it a very decent grade as well.

there are 1 or 2 undocumented farthings still probably. i'll have a look for those myself. 1845 FID. type for example, no documentation of this either

china had some larger cash coins this is the same size as a cartwheel, but i believe there were bigger
