  1. been away so missed the developments in this thread. i got an 1879 narrow off ebay a few years back for a few quid. which was surprising. and having looked at 1879 narrows elsewhere, i see it is clear there are at least 2 dies
  2. bad pics can sometimes and have been advantageous to me. my pet hates, having come back from Bulgaria, and knowing what the prices there were, and now are after 4-5 years. SILVER PRICE!! - last time i was there, was picking up russian 800. silver 50 kopecks imperial- soviet for a few quid, now its 15-20- 30+ anything silver is upwards £15, still found some nice things there in copper. for a few quid. - seems silver price, and age are the factors being played there now (did find a worn 1819 20 kopeck for under a quid though ) people listing something as rare when it isn't people who bid silly sums on metal detector finds... when most of the coins with details are junk, and rest are discs.
  3. never seen an 1896 THAT wide, did find the narrowest one.
  4. shall we start on the Edwards?.... looking at the 9.. it looks smaller.

  14. do love a good roman, i got a few recently myself
  15. looks to be a tin farthing. the plug in the middle gives it away
  16. whats the differance then? cos one is so worn, i would never be able to tell any
  17. if he started on tiny date spreads we would have far to many 1860-63 bun varieties
  18. they are listed in a book we all know of though small rose is listed as more valuable for both years the differance is minute though. from i gather is the large rose nearly touches the shields i believe this is a small shield, the gap is larger but not by much http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/pics/ones2.html differance is in here
  19. no idea tbh, not many people know about the differant rose sizes
  20. I wish people would stop knowing they had those 1903 opens.. i want one cheap >.> i look at 1908 and 1909 as well. but really, we have the 1870 wide and narrow which is what? 1 tooth? and we got the the OH viccies that dont count, the few differant 1902's (isn't there 2 versions of LT )
  21. its stripey? what? defo cleaned, copepr doesnt tone like that, i have seen brass tone in rainbows with silver, and natuaral toning is pleasent this is not natural. although a cleaned copper coin can tone nicely... this hasn't
