  1. In hindsight I would of bought that new car at £99 per week...with PPI. What a sad crazy world we live in.
  2. I just wonder how many PPI claims are fraudulent? Some people like the insurance and accept it...how many were actually miss sold? When I buy white goods I always refuse insurance. If I wanted insurance I certainly wouldn't buy it through the seller. We all have a go at banks but in this instance I feel sorry for them.
  3. An interesting period. I have a John Bumford flintlock holster pistol 1765 (converted to percussion in 1840).He apparently was one of their main suppliers of munitions. He his father and son were quality London gunsmiths. Good luck with your quest
  4. Nooooooooooo Wedding anniversary today, so a couple O jars, an' an injun! Have a good evening chaps! (an' gal) Word of advice....pop the toilet roll in the fridge now. Just back...Thanks Peter! A classic anniversary! I'm sat on the sofa checking out the latest on the Internet, and the better half is catching flies peacefully in the chair beside me! She felt BLOATED which is why I'm 'happily' thanking you now , instead of having an after dinner drink at the real-fire, real-ale, pub on the walk home! Aaaaahh, married bliss! She should be catching your flies on the sofa. Going out for a meal on special occasions can destroy passion.
  5. Some reading glasses for the small print. A nice little windfall though. The world is your lobster on that amount I think I would head for a beach resort on the Indian Ocean in Sept/Oct for a week or two.Buy a few nice coins.Spend a little on loved ones and just enjoy it.
  6. It would have to be Edward 111.He was red hot at poker...or something like that
  7. :D In the earlier days of Ebay even without a picture I have checked out feed back and picked up some steals I think Genie wants to sell. Pop some pictures up and dangle the carrot I say.
  8. They all sound the same

  10. Indeed - an uncirculated coin need not be perfect. But it MUST NOT show any signs of wear (rubbing, slight flattening, or worse). Modern uncirculated coins can show what are generally referred to as 'bag marks', which your two coins in their leather pouch MAY have, from rubbing together (pictures would be good if you can get them). Bag marks can be minor abrasions, scuffing, very light small scratches. Chips on the edge should not be present. But as I say, we would need to see some pictures to be sure. By the way, what are the dates of your coins? Ignore the grades most ebayers use.
  11. I wouldn't call that a circulation edge knock and would rate it as struck. Getting hold of a decent cartwheel, nice tone, good rims is a challenge.
  12. Was the virgin Mary weeping? Glad I wasn't Joseph...a very understanding man On Jeremy Kyle tomorrow? "We've done a DNA test... Joseph... (audience, please - let me say this, it's very very difficult). Joseph... I'm so sorry..." Did Joseph have black teeth, tattoo's,drink, drug problems,on benefits and lived for texting?
  13. Higenie...couldn't resist that. To be uncirculated the coins must be perfect.Gold is very soft and the fact they have been stored together probably negates UNC. Most 20C sovereigns are worth bullion unless you have a rare mint. What dates are the coins. The mint (if not London)will be indicated just above the date.
  14. There is very little wear.It could be cabinet friction. If not A/unc certainly GEF. Cracking coin
  15. There is very little wear.It could be cabinet friction. If not A/unc certainly GEF. Cracking coin
  16. Why ANYONE would think this is GF/VF
  17. Has the coin market gone mad? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1932-Penny-CGS-AU-78-Freeman-207-George-V-AJW-Coins-/221040614885?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item33770c1de5#ht_1534wt_1037 It is a nice coin and fairly graded by CGS but does getting a common (ish) coin slabbed increase its value by 400%?
  18. Look at this listing and give your opinion on grade. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wonderful-1562-Elizabeth1-silver-6d-Sixpence-/221079180456?pt=UK_Coins_BritishHammered_RL&hash=item33795894a8#ht_752wt_1270 It is a nicely rounded. The bust always wears quickly. I would give it NF/Poor
  19. Was the virgin Mary weeping? Glad I wasn't Joseph...a very understanding man On Jeremy Kyle tomorrow?
  20. I usually slobber alcohol over my coins....not pure but mixed with hops, malt and barley with a speck of spare rib juice.
  21. I am no expert in tokens.John is. If you want to sell Ebay is an option or speak to a dealer (John or Chris the owner of this site). I have sold some on Ebay anywhere between 99p and £25.I let the market decide. It is a specialised field. If you want to clear in a job lot with no fuss do the former.I'm sure if you open dialogue with the former a deal can be done. In the 1st batch you have a cartwheel 1797 1d/2d..I haven't checked in detail. If you studied them you would learn a lot.
  22. Look at the other items and you will see a fair+ 1926 ME 1d described as GF with a price tag of £183 delivered.
  23. 1 First gold coin is a sovereign.George V.Bullion value £250 (Ebay you would get a bit more but have fees to pay) 2 Second coin is a half sovereign.Edward V11.Bullion value etc 50% of the above. 3 Third coin is a 50% silver crown.(nicknamed the rock horse crown)_GVF and worth £15 to £20 4 4th & 5th coins are Victoria Jubilee head crowns and 92.5% silver. The first one is F & worth £15 to £25 the second one much nicer VF ish and worth £25 to £40. Do not clean them or sell to the bullion sharks (cash for gold etc) As long as you picture them well you could start them at 99p and they will make their money (the gold coins going special delivery) I hope this is what you were after....and welcome to the forum.
  24. From this period EF or less are only worth bullion(unless it from a rare mint)
