They have tried to improve their customer support but it is still shocking, I haven't sold much high value stuff, yet... I have a few hammereds I wish to part with that should bring in a bit of cash. I know what you mean, I know one guy who's Lighthouse capsules were pulled of eBay due to them being "counterfeit"... Who would bother faking coin capsules? I know about your eBook listings, it's a shame as you are genuine and have edited all of them as far as I'm aware.

Chris, eBay have a customer support phone number which they have given to their valued cutomers: "You're one of our most valued eBay customers and your satisfaction is very important to us." "(This phone number is only for members who've been invited to participate so please don't give it to others.)" It's because I've spent a lot recently that they've given me this phone number, I rang up the number, they were based in Ireland, and this woman asked me to spell my username. It took me 7 tries and I eventually hung-up on her... I bet if I didn't spend so much they'd toss me in the bin of "not-so-valued" customers, they are still money grabbing crooks in my opinion though. Clive.

I found out that one coin seller has had ALL of his coins shill bid on, and I'm talking near a hundred!!! I was in lengthy discussions with eBay and soon the eBay seller is banned from auctioning, now all of his coins are BIN or Best Offer! eBay will soon change all payments to PayPal and I wouldn't be surprised if they raise the charges too! But their customer support is much better than it used to be. Clive.

Not much is known about specific moneyers, only those listed in the Domesday and yours are much earlier than that! There doesn't appear to be any rare moneyers on your coins for the issues, so you just noticed these whilst walking? Have you gone back with a metal detector since? I know it's cruel to ask but are you interested in selling? I'm after some better examples for my collection and these could be the tickets, I pay very good prices too! I don't know about that Richard, I'm just offering my own opinion.

I don't think that it could be Taunton as only Elfric minted there. Taunton on Henry I coins is "TANTU" That "P" looks like a blundered "T" and so it might read "CANTA" "Pilde" at Canterbury is very confusing as there was no "Pilde" for Henry I mints... So perhaps Winedi, Willem, Wulfwine or Wulsi. I have a feeling that it might be Wulsi but it is an odd coin.

From the emails I think that this coin is of Canterbury mint, "PILDE ON CANT", Spink 1265/B.M.C. 4.
