  1. It certainly is an "Early" George III Crown!
  2. Many thanks for your wishes gentlemen!
  3. The coins looks to be dated 1885. is this the same coin ???? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...52BSI%26otn%3D4 No, this looks to be dated 1880.
  4. Right, so I saw this on eBay today and was intrigued: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:X:RTQ:GB:1123 I decided to ask as to how the seller came to the conclusion that it was, indeed, 'magical'. I was most surprised by the reply. "believed to be dug up in the garden of paul daniels!" Anyway, still think it's a Henry VIII Halfgroat rather than an Edward VI Penny...
  5. Well, the condition of yours is quite poor. So I would not expect much at all, maybe a pound or two, if that.
  6. Looks to be this: 1789 'Cronebane' Halfpenny. The obverse reads CRONEBANE HALFPENNY around the bishop. The reverse reads ASSOCIATED IRISH MINE COMPANY around a coat of arms. The edge should read PAYABLE AT CRONEBANE LODGE.
  7. Welcome to the forum sas! Photos would help immensely.
  8. This project does sound incredibly interesting. You had better wash your mouth out Red Riley... Kindest Regards, Clive.
  9. After attempting to correct the seller on their amazing grading skills they were kind enough to reply with this: "why dont you get a life and concentrate on your own auction" I was obviously wrong in pointing out that the coin was not Unc as it obviously is and I would concentrate on my own auction, if I had one... The joys of eBay!!
  10. Scott, Do you have any photos? It would be great if you did. Kindest Regards, Clive.
  11. Does the seller of the coin live in a sanatorium?
  12. Couldn't agree more! Secretly, I love answering emails and queries on coins. Always fun to have pictures of Anglo-Saxon pennies and the like in your inbox! Met so many great people along the way, all part of the fun.
  13. I'm keeping an eye out for these mules but have not come across any yet. Has given me the chance to obtain at least one of each coin though, quite a few pennies, twopences and twenty pence pieces around here.
  14. Most interesting description for a coin: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...alenotsupported Great pic of it too, think we could all learn a lesson or two about coin photography...
  15. Happy New year everyone!
  16. Just when you thought Edward I Groats were rare... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/henry-111-groat_W0QQ...1|39:1|240:1318
  17. Keep up the good work Hus!!
  18. Not a problem, I bid up to £7.02 but you still got them for a good price! Let me know when you receive them if you want some more IDs.
  19. Ah, I was bidding on these... Top left is a cut/broken halfpenny, i.e. was originally a penny. Ed I/II Top right is an Ed I/II Penny of Canterbury mint, CIVI TAS CAN TOR. Bottom is a halfgroat of James I as Richard says, Second Coinage so 1607-9 due to m.m. Coronet. Feel free to email me more pics of coins including other sides and I'll be more than happy to help you further. I can be reached via Clive@HistoricCoinage.com
  20. The R in the centre of the reverse means that it's of Richard II as does the fact it reads RIC ARD on the obverse. I cannot tell from the photos as to more details, if you email me some better photos to Clive@HistoricCoinage.com I'll have a look. Are you thinking of selling by any chance..? Kindest Regards, Clive.
  21. And I thought you lot would be experts! Sold for £120! Yes, but eBay is the place where lots of stuff goes way over its true value, yours is just one of many of such cases... £120? I thought it was £90...
  22. £90 is a lot, if this were to go to auction I could see it reaching £60. If I were you I'd accept the £90 offer!
  23. A very warm welcome to you!! I'm more of a hammered man but look forward to seeing your coins and reading your posts. I know what you mean about coins with a story, holding an Anglo-Saxon penny and just thinking of what it could tell...
  24. As the portrait is half decent I'd be happy to take it off your hands for £20...
