  1. Strange to say, I had tried that, but for some unknown reason i got the "forbidden" sign when I tried to copy! No idea why. This is the picture in question. Argh! It says "this type of file cannot be uploaded". Aint life a bitch?
  2. Thanks Chris! I remember now. It's old age you know!!
  3. Thanks Oli. Done. But I'm sure there must be a way to transfer pictures direct into posts? Oh! for 'cut & paste' to work! How much simpler.
  4. I am still in the dark about transfering pictures of coins from my "my pictures" site to posts on forums. At present I have to use Omnicoin, not always the best idea, as I am not interested in telling the world what I'm about! So can one of the 'forum boffins' make any suggestions?( besides "Get lost")
  5. Just a homosexual website! But it has been eliminated from the forum now, thank goodness!
  6. Sorry about the hiccough!
  7. OK! So I'm a bit slow. I can't, for the life of me, remember how to get a coin picture from "my pictures" on the hard drive, to any topic on the forum. I'll probably say "Stupid - of course" when told, but please jog my memory!

  9. 1999 Coincraft and 2004 Spinks are all I use and can't see the point of updating - I never take any notice of the prices anyway and have no interest inthe modern stuff!
  10. It's a pity the coin is so poor as the first to show a commoner. It's the only one I'd reccomend enamelling!
  11. You do get the £5's in change, I got one in Tescos, but I haven't had a crown, except at car boot sales when they expect £1 each!
  12. More likely he has a good buffing machine and the photography can hide a multitude of sins.
  13. I remember in my days as an RAF apprentice, that it was the going thing to manufacture these, and double tails during "workshops". The competition was to have the most perfect example. Good fun at the time, but, as poorly paid as we were, many of them were spent before the next pay day!
  14. The problem has been solved! There were two sources in the USA and they were working in isolation, but now I have an accurate scale, thank the Lord!!! The whole thing was due to my misreading the address and going to the wrong one! Mea culpa
  15. Thanks Rob! I did contact the vendor who just put me on to the "customer service department" of the manufacturer who were supposed to send a RMA number so that I could return the thing for repair. They didn't. As I want a servicable scale and not a refund, I don't intend to pursue the financial aspect. In any case as the thing was bought on an e-bay auction for £1.50, the main cost being the postage of £9.50 I would think the vendor has covered himself. I thought e-bay was going to stop that practice? I'll try one last shot at the vendor and see what developes!
  16. Who can fathom the thinking of our cousins across the pond to account for their actions? Logic doesn't come into it! Think of the boost to the coin market if these were available!
  17. Yep. I hope she succeeds too as My wife and I have to travel 220 miles, round trip, to have our teeth looked at!!
  18. I'd made the cardinal sin for e-bay! I hadn't looked at the postage being charged! £9.50. Should have told me something. The seller is UK based but the service is USA based. Do I spend more money sending it stateswide (without much trust in the company) and incurr more money, or do I cut and run?
  19. Well done! Oli. You beat my granddaughter by 2 A*s! She wants to become a dentist - so that's onje shortage lessened!
  20. Has anyone else had dealings with this American firm? I bought a pocket scale from them on 4th August and it arrived OK on the 9th. But it did not work. Numerous attempts, following the scant directions, proved fruitless. Since then I've emailed them eight times - it appears I need an RMA number from them before they will replace the item. I've even had an email from another user suggesting a cure, again without success. I am still awaiting the magic RMA number so I can return the beast! I'm beginning to wonder if the firm is legit? Any thoughts?
  21. Hammered collectors are a bit thin on the ground!
  22. How about the State Quarters of the US? I have the album printed for them and have all up to date, the folder gives the full issue to 2008, so is a good reference to wants. There are clear plastic slides that isolate the coin from the card pages, - but what are they made of????
  23. A hero is someone who manages to do something we all want, but cannot do!
  24. Isn't it the "British" thing to knock all heroes or heriones. It's also a sick trait.
