so I have a 1893 Shilling.... good condition 👍 I then read a reference to a 1893 small lettering but no images were provided.... following on I then found... Small obverse lettering with rare die pairing. Davies 1010A - dies 1C (the reverse type typically found on small rose 1895 and 1896 shillings with lines extending from the gaps between petals on the rose) by chance is anyone up on this reference??

I also recently discovered these 2 commonwealth coins amongst my box of Hammered Coins, rubbed but nice to have all the same, ......£737.48 😲 gosh!

wow, I spent ages with Spink, was right at the point of giving it a Group letter.. then discovered no inner circles, were as mine has.......! I couldn't find mm, however I did read pellets and was wondering..... Rob your examples are nice...in typical fashion mine leave a lot to be desired mucky detail an all .... 🤔 however! again pleased I've manged to slot another one in the page of Pennys. many many thanks Rob its been a great help 👍

as far as I can tell its....... Charles I 1 Penny possibly 1630 - 32 Oxford? Weight 0.46 Grms not totally sure what group it could be? 🤔 all and any clarification greatly welcome. 👍

translation, Russian to English, 👍 Hi everyone, I've recently acquired a Victoria Young Head Shield Back Half Sovereign from 1844 and protected it from macro photography access. While examining the reverse, I noticed what seems to be a very distinct Repunched Date (RPD). The doubling/repunching is particularly visible on the last two digits ("44"). On the last digit, there is a very clear structure inside the triangle of the number 4, as well as an extended alignment of the stems to the right and down. I've attached two high-resolution macro photos (files from standard 1000017922.jpg to 1000017923.jpg) showing the details. I would really appreciate any input, expert opinions, or catalog references regarding this type of feature. Is this a known variety of the 1844 Shield Half Sovereign, and how rare is it? Thanks in advance for your help!

its the same with me and the lack of fascination of the 1 Penny's, the Die No's seem to have grown as I work through what I've had for a long time waiting to be sorted out,...odd how these now become a bit of an obsession.... enjoyable all the same 👍I believe its possible they will become more of an interest...not necessarily in my life time....I just hope someone in years to come appreciate these being now in a Date / Die No order.... 🤔

Adding additional engraved coins found.... interesting I understand the meaning of KISMET..... but could it be it was owned by a member of the KISMET Foundation? 🤔

Finding good graded coins has been good of late, another box of coins processed and this 1915 Shilling George V although heavily tarnished its quite a good grade, the lions nose seems a bit rubbed, but the rest seems un touched, vast improvement on the one I already had.... 👍🙏

its been a difficult time of sifting through the Hammered as most are beyond recognition...., this one although rubbed Ive been looking at for months and hopefully its.... Edward III Weighs 0.9 grams I can make out DVNE from the reverse Durham ... below the bust S o R, I thought would help Identify and have a better Idea of Class...errrmmm No Ive drawn a blank, any assistance greatly welcome. 👍

ohhhh! and I did spot a flaw its only a lump between the teeth and the 2nd letter I in Victoria.....👍

just tacking on to this topic in regards to found in good condition,...... and theses six pence's dated 1911 George V and a young head Victoria 1887 fall into this category, I had these dates already paged however theses are in so much better condition, so need to show and switch them out... 👍

Loddy Heck!!! errrmmmm... This George V 1911 2 pence Maundy is also in nice condition as well 😕 I don't no how has happed but its in nice condition all the same. 👍

This 1819 George III Crown..... I'm not sure if its been shown before however it wasn't in a folder, loose with others. I did note that above the date a flaw....across the engravers name P I S T R U C C I Is this a common flaw with this date?

I have found........., 4th bust 1673 KM# 438.1VICESIMO QVINTO 1673 KM# 438.2plume below bust 1673 KM# 438.3centre plume reverse I've not found references to stops, hopefully others will chip in with more information ... 👍

errrrmmmmmm? found this'un and in the spirit of thing with the penny interest (although I'm not 🤷‍♂️) I thought id show you all... its not my interest but may float someone's boat... not sure if its a wonky 6 or misshaped 2 ???? or whatever I'm supposed to be looking out for?!?!??! Ummmmmm! In the attached photo is 2 x Schillings, the upper one is dated 1839 and is clear to see, the lower one.....? could it be 1859 ? or disfigured 1839 ?? any opinions appreciated. 👍

aha, there's a trace of what may be Cinquefoil ? its the best image I can obtain with all the other dings included in the photo.

🤣errrmmm as for the book I hadn't been out of hospital that long when I decided to start with the forum and get the coin situation in my life sorted , it wasn't something id seen before an unable to see if it would be of use to me...its proven to be a useful tool, and I will endeavour to find a better copy, I cant fault the 2009 copy for the £4 it cost... not sure were you'd buy a lunchtime beer with a snack from at this price...? besides I've not had a drink of beer in years.... tablets, health, etc etc etc, 👍
