The George IIII 1837 Groats I have come in vgc however they seem to have faults, cracked dies, date number not in line....the Victorian Groats seem to be worn but with no faults... was this just the way of George IIII coins being minted?

Whilst still sorting out......Ive never come across this before........., the coin looks like it has letters printed on to it. has this happened as a chemical reaction by being stored flat against a printed document? I can see CTE CLE and what looks like part of A intriguing find for me 🤔

I Nearly scrapped this one for being a ex mount ...on the reverse some rather nice initials have been sympathetically added circa 1887

I have a soapy warm water soft tooth brush regime with all my worn silver coins, there was a really...and I mean Really, totally manky Victorian Rupee,.... once all the grud had soaked off it was a really nice coin.... I will have gentle prod with a cocktail stick once I have some free time.... and lets see how things turn out..👍

I do like a Edward VII , although Coppers dont sing to me I feel this ones a keep, having a Scarcer date tag also adds to its appeal. many thanks "H"

I was nudged "Old Coins!" huh??? oh now I see... 😮 are they worth anything???? the photos arrived hence the long winded intro.... I could tell them what the scrap price is as they have been circulated but it seem a bit harsh... if by chance anyone can take the time to advise as to the Grade and a better Idea what they may be worth would be of a great help. the Shillings I noted 1864 and 1874 have die No's which for me is a nice talk point.......Many thanks "H"

ah yes, you are correct, I put this down to the warm weather and lack of sleep 1641-3 Triangle circled. the condition is also to be my fault, it was mixed in with loads other coins for ages and just ended up being roughly handed......ooops 😕

the crock clip biting to the coin is of concern, I use tweezers that are plastic, rather than metal, .....just an observation, 👍

I do have a wash a coin disorder🤔 however I don't polish them, obvious circulated damaged ones get slotted in until like on this occasion they get rotated and then the lesser quality will finds its way onto ebay, its quite therapeutic and if I'm honest this should of taken place ages ago...I just didn't have the time back then....many thanks for the assistance I can mull these things over and on occasion ended up keeping duplicates....I sure I'm not the only one..👍

whilst sorting coins out I tend to find that there's already a dated coin in the "keep" folder, then its a case of weighing up what is the better grade of the two..... most I have (as you know 🤔) do come with circulation damage, but I always take a closer look at duplicates and see if there is a better option to keep... the (1816 Shilling) one on the right was in the folder, the one on the left is a contender to be an up grade..... it looks better to me, so I would appreciate a second opinion... before committing to swapping them around. 👍cheers

I can see this as a possibility, and I did test the water with the family....little interest on any front other than "What's it worth?" or..... I could consider a Viking Burial ? 🤔 in regards to the future of my coins... nothings been set in stone ,,,,or been put in a slab 😉👍

" couldn't agree more with this statement...its kinda the way I've been through life, I was "Collecting / Hoarding ?!?!" in a day of uncertainty with recession ..... times moved on and over everything....once I was asked Why??? rubbed worn out scrap??? its what's around and what's I can afford, yeah! some good...some bad....but good to have a something to show for my efforts...the slab thing I don't get either is it just hype or what ultra purest collectors really want?? how many of mine can be considered to be slabbed?? However, I must admit I'm considering at one point in history I will auction all the silver coins off, and buy a single gold coin with the proceeds, this will be a heirloom and to remain within the family........
