  1. That's a very difficult one! The solution will be a pointed oval (like an American football) but I have no idea how to calculate half the circle in that shape!
  2. That's not in the original riddle.
  3. Question - must the dates be as you've shown, or is it just that you must convert 2 rows into a circle, i.e. any old dates?
  4. "You are allowed just one question to one of the robots". Your version allows a question to each robot which is not allowed.
  5. That's another solution. Too easy!
  6. That's more or less it. I'll try to think of a harder one next time!
  7. That's no good. If it was the truthful robot, you'd get the answer 'yes', but you'd also get the answer 'yes' from the lying robot if it WASN'T the safe door, so you'd be no better off.
  8. Ah yes. Missing from the puzzle as stated is the fact that each robot knows the nature of the other robot, whether they lie or not.
  9. A man is captured by cannibals who decide to kill and eat him. But their chief decides to offer the man a merciful end - he says "You can make one statement. If it's true, we will kill you quickly before putting you in the pot. If it's a lie, you will die horribly, boiled alive". The man makes his statement. It makes the chief hopping mad but in the end there is nothing he can do but to release his captive. What was the man's statement?
  10. Oh but it is - you can ask one question of either robot, which is what Sword's answer gives.
  11. Can't beat the 'John McEnroe tenner'
  12. Ah, the infamous Marleybob is still at it! She is certainly persistent..
  13. A well satisfied wife, I assume...
  14. Glenn Ogden (Devon) is the same - no pictures. The difference being that he is an honest broker. Even so, he'd do so much better if he'd have pictures.
  15. I did an online shop - with much website difficulty - from Waitrose yesterday. When I came to checkout I was asked to pick a slot first. Then was told that there are no slots available for the foreseeable future. So much for 'helping the self-isolated'. 😠 😥
  16. Unfortunately they haven't allowed for the disabled. There's no way I can make Zimmer Hour at any local supermart. 😥
  17. And enlarging to double size hasn't helped.
  18. Veiled head pennies have a very wide variation of date numerals - 1899 seems to be the worst culprit. They're nowhere near as dramatic as the 1870s variations, but still, there's a lot of them.
  19. looks like a little bishop welcoming his flock.
