  1. My mum and dad left Dovecote ( Stone field Rd)in the late 70s and dragged us all to Skem. I don't remember much about there as i was born in 73. Did regularly pop back to visit family there til the late 90s but sadly they have all passed now and I've got no more family there. The rest of my family live in Skelmersdale still apart from my parents who moved up to Clitheroe before i did. I had a messy breakup with my ex then ended up getting full custody of both my kids who where under ten at the time. Right mess. I was told if i wanted custody i had to leave skem for family support so i came here. Bit traumatic for all of us , i lost my job my house and friends. Kids have only just settled down now.
  2. Ha ha. I've seen those myself a few times. Quite a few were painted up with clothes. There was abit of a moan about vandalism but it was all in good taste. Looks like its fading on them now. Lifes not too bad in Clitheroe. I miss my old friends but i occasionally see them when they drive up. Originally i was from Dovecote but I've also lived in Skelmersdale . Strange place that was lol some right nutters there.?
  3. I've reported all three also. Hopefully they will get pulled. I've not seen many replicas on ebay lately then wham three all in the space of a few hours. Couple of clowns them two , if it was a geniune coin it wouldn't be worth that much anyway.
  4. Same price , same coin, same town, same description. Same scam. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253134669300
  5. Reported! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/King-Charles-I-hammered-silver-threepence-coin-/172852041995
  6. Some mug will buy it as it's Baldwin's. This is why I don't buy from these big name dealers. Rubbish at inflated prices!.
  7. Oh my. ? Some people eh. The George IV looks like it got lost in a sandstorm for a century. I hear crys of any old iron ?
  8. It depends on how toned you want it really. You can see it changing within minutes if you use a clear container. I only gave mine about 25 minutes and that was dark enough for me.
  9. I've used that method it work's. I mushed up an hard boiled egg and put it in a tupperware dish to one side then used a dot of blue tack to stand my coin on its edge. Shut the lid and watched it tone off nicely. Good cheap method.
  10. Me also. I struggle a little with classification of Edwards I-II & III but i am fine with the voided longcross and shortcross series. It really depends on condition of coin and which parts are visible.
  11. Nice bunch of Eddys. If you want free help on identification i find this websites great for Edwardian long cross classification. http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/pages/edwardian-Pennies/Edwardian%20Pennies%20P1.htm#The groups Theres also a section on there for voided longcross classification http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/pages/Long-Cross-Pennies/Long%20Cross%20Pennies%20P1.htm (henry III) also there is www.henry3.com for voided longcross help.
  12. It looks like the logo of the east india company on one side. Can't help with value as i don't know what it is.

  14. Scrap metal!
  15. Its a brass half guinea coin weight of William III. They where used to check the weight of a real half guinea as counterfeits were rife in them days. Dates to between 1690- 1702. Value is anywhere between £25- £50. Thats roughly what they sell for on eBay. People do collect them so if you put it on eBay with a buy it now price it will likely sell. Seems to have some good detail to it so it will sell easily i think. Nice find
  16. He will indeed. When he listed his first two and he had in the listing he'd found a bag full in his garden i knew then he was lining the way to frequently offload them. I am hoping he gets a neg on his feedback off this last sale. He's a real prize prick.
  17. Thats what makes them so dangerous. Not my area am afraid. It makes me think twice about diversifying my collection. Still a victory Hibernianscribe getting him to pull them. If he relists them as novelty then i suppose thats fair enough but in the future they will reappear on ebay as geniune no doubt.
  18. Well done. Good job. Sometimes the moral stick works. ?
  19. 1871 gone. Hes pulled it.? He's only just listed the other as a novelty. Probably relist it as the same.
  20. You would think he would know better than to ruin his reputation over a few quid for fake Victoria pennies. What a bozo. I'll be closely scrutinizing anything he's selling from now on. I've bought from him also. What I've noticed with ebay and our mass reporting is that if its not got a bid on it they will pull it but once it's running they don't. I can see that going on to complete sale unless the seller can be persuaded. Perhaps a friendly word about reputation , future faith etc might sway him.
  21. Highly suspicious one ere. Has that heart shape on it the Lizzys have. It doesn't look right either. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Charles-II-hammered-coinage-three-Pence-Silver-Coin-/272805389565
  22. No doubt end up as individual lots on eBay that bunch. Lord Westair shilling here. George III. Ain't seen one of these before. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332342236894 And...Suspicious looking http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272804023109
  23. Couple of wronguns here. I've reported them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263141319994 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162628582256
  24. ? Lol. Classic. Point proven eh! ?
  25. Crazy isn't it. People paying silly money for coins wacked with an axe or whizzed with a grinder. Common sense tells you it's deliberate damage. I just cannot understand the mentality of these buyers. A fool and his money are quickly parted.
