  1. I messaged him also. He's said he's pulling it. Result ! ?
  2. We get found in grand dads belongings quite often or found in shed or garden but this is the new lie. Found under the floor boards. Wow do they all live in 14th century hamlets? Bloody terrible copy as well ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTIQUE-SILVER-SHORT-CROSS-PENNY-FORMERLY-THE-PROPERTY-OF-JOHN-BRAND-R-N-S/322892100311
  3. Thats happened to me a few times. I find it annoying. I look at feedback now on sellers i am dubious about as usually you'll see other people complaining about items coming from china a month after ordering it and no mention of it being based in china in the listing or location.
  4. Another one from the lord westair collection https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/John-1199-1216-AR-Penny-Short-cross-1204-1209/192369018832
  5. Man you'd have to be a serious road trip with copious amounts of illicit drugs to even remotely believe that was a geniune coin. That's so bad. ?
  6. You've got some quality gold pieces. ?
  7. Its Friday and its a break from the thirsty job of hammering ? What a job he's got. Living the dream! ?
  8. Monkey Hanger lol. I just looked and saw he was based in Hartlepool and the penny dropped ?
  9. Cheaper & easier to overstamp the individual numbers than create a whole new die. Seems to be a really common theme on Elizabethan coinage.
  10. My one. Same date.
  11. Charles the Bold - Double Patard c.1467 -1477 Ad. https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/398107
  12. Both reported. ?
  13. Chichester is a hard one to get hold of as well.
  14. It is yeah. I think its Henry II/ Richard though. Not sure Halli struck under John. I don't normally collect cut halfs but can't resist it when a rare mint pops up.
  15. Done that once or twice ? AIIB i call them. Short for alcohol induced impulse buy!
  16. Found it on the bay mixed in with a load of unresearched bits an bobs of hammered coins. If anybody is after one similar somebody's listed one last night on its own though i think the description is wrong perhaps. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/John-cut-half-hammered-silver-penny-Halli-on-Rhuddlan-moneyer-mint-VF/263326027152
  17. Stunning!! I'd of been gutted if I'd of dropped that back in the day.
  18. I thought it had been annealed when I first saw it. It's very bright!
  19. Half penny of Rhuddlan. Group 1 Class 1 of Henry II or Richard. Moneyer Halli.
  20. You've lost me. ?
  21. Fairly new to the market them replicas with the heart shape stamp. Last few years anyway.
  22. Try and haggle him down a bit lol. If you want a rough idea of value on the merk see what there going for in that condition on eBay. Good luck with them. Here's a similar one. There ain't many on there though. Saw another one for £550 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scotland-Silver-Charles-II-Merk-13s-4d-S5611-1673-First-Coinage/382278605456
  23. Am skint now lol. I've shelled out just shy of £200 this week on short cross coins. Christmas snapping at my heels as well i think am done til January.
  24. Unfortunately yeah we are. I just hope he didn't part with too much cash for it. I'd definitely be chasing a refund for it that's for sure.
  25. I think it would be. The merks the really valuable one out the bunch. The Longcross is a good grade also. I suppose if the Geo III trio was ok it would be a good deal. The Charles 1st is a bit shagged. ?. You might make back what you shelled out if you put the merk back on eBay i suppose.
