  1. That's alright then. Why don't you register as a member here? There's no funny business or spam and such like.
  2. You should be able to get your money back from paypal should the seller not refund you. Paypal are extremely effiecient at whipping sellers money right from under their noses, believe me! You'll have to let us know in here, how it goes.
  3. Yes, but if we keep getting little kisses we'll talk to you all day!
  4. From experience seeing other circulated proofs including 1927's etc. I've also never heard of a non proof raised edge, and I do know George V crowns pretty well.
  5. Oh, you bought it? I hope you get your money back ok.
  6. I keep meaning to do something about that.
  7. It's Spannish, without looking in books that's about all I can tell you! It's no doubt from somewhere around the 18th century.
  8. Happy birthday JMD. You're exactly a day younger that my Australian friends daughter! (if you want her email address let me know )
  9. I noticed a little error in the GB coin section of Krause books (not sure what volume/edition). The error concerns the size of the Britannia type groats. In the book they are shown as being the same size as the maundy type groats, which is of course wrong, they are the same size as the threepence (but with a milled edge). Tell Messrs Krause and Michler about that one if you will, it's bugged me for the last couple of years!
  10. There was also a .500 proof wasn't there. I seem to remember I bought one off spink described as such, but it got lost in the post! Yes, ESC lists a .500 proof and it has a normal incuse edge...That exists as far as I'm aware. Where are you based E Dawson, if you're weren't aware, I also produce a British coin publication.
  11. I've seen 1934 crowns worn down to less than Fine, and 1927 proofs completely unrecognisable as proofs.
  12. Those are great Oli, thanks. That reminds me that I wanted to contact the BM to see if they wouldn't mind if I reproduced the 2nd Edition Peck dust cover.
  13. Very true... And are there some pictures somewhere that would not involve me linking to Mr Chard?
  14. You can't just buy the folders! Unless on the rare occassion that a coin got damaged inside and someone put the folder on ebay, but the chance of that is very slim. In a life time your probably would collect about 3 folders that way! You could try going to the mint direct, but I suspect the older packs get pulped when their issue has sold out.
  15. Going by the Colin Cooke example here: http://www.colincooke.com/coinpages/halffarthing.htm (you've probably seen it, and it's not a closeup) I'd say send it back, yours looks very different.
  16. Ok, go for it! Send it insured and I'll return it likewise.
  17. I'd probably pay for scans of the images, if you could do some without damaging the book.
  18. Yes, of course! We're all reasonable people. And none of the regulars here are imbeciles, so fire away, let's hear about unfair negative feedback experiences (not those where negligence of any kind was involved).
  19. Is the book well illustated at all? Sorry to go off subject a bit. I don't have this book but I'm always looking for antique coin books because the images no longer have a copyright.
  20. Thanks both of you. I know one shouldn't loose sleep over suchlike, but when you try purposefully to keep squeeky clean and then imbeciles like Sharron come along, it can ruin your hour.
  21. I got a neg (user id chrisperkins)! Bloody stupid woman. I received a letter with a cheque for the England's Striking History ebook. In it, she specified a postal address for it to be sent to, so I emailed and explained it was an ebook and that other people sometimes make the same error (because most people are as thick as too short planks, but I didn't write that of course) not to worry though, I specified the download link and that was that. Without a reply or any communication I get a neg for it not being as described! Really it should have been me leaving her a neg for not reading it as described and being of sub-intelligence. Get this though.....I got her (mobile) phone number from ebay and gave her a ring. I asked politely if she was 'Sharron' (with 2 R's) and I told her who I was and that I was dissapointed with the neg and if she could tell me exactly why it was not as described. She told me to wait a moment and I could hear her talking to someone. Then the phone went dead and when I try to call again, it's switched off! How infuriating. This is a new product, I've only sold about 5, and it doesn't look good if someone already thinks it warrants a neg. What a bloody stupid uncommunicative cow. I've emailed her asking - still politely of course - if she would be able to remove the neg. She hasn't even paid anything as I still have the cheque here! If that fails, she's only in Ipswich and I can pay her a visit much easier than she could pay me a visit! The words 'window' and 'brick' come to mind, but I'm far too sensible for any nastiness like that. Bloody stupid woman.
  22. 22 already! You were 19 when you came here weren't you? Everyone has birthdays around this time, that can't be a 'coin'cedence.
  23. I took some castle picture, pictures of a Jester, a Knight and Dave hammering coins in medival surroundings....One or all of that will be on the cover.
  24. None whatsoever, they are completely different denominations and (without looking) the Half Sov is probably pretty common. It's a bit like a Cinquecento and an Alfa Romeo GTV, both made in the same year by the same people but neither has any affect on the value of the other. (I like to refer to cars somehow, one of my other interests)
  25. Yes, I can probably remember. I'm putting the cover together, but might delay printed publication a bit while Mrs West gets some advertisers for me.
