  1. Seems ok for me now. I did block an IP range and there are about 200 guests online at the moment. As soon as you block one though, it does virtually nothing as they use a load of different IP addresses. Don't think it's malicious at the moment. Probably training an AI or who knows.
  2. Does seem a bit excessive. Many of them have the same 43.173. or 43.172 IP address range. I'll see what I can do.
  3. Should be ok now. At least the liking works and I just liked all the posts above. Adding images also seems to work.
  4. I was also getting the account suspended thing. The host said the site was attacked by a DDOS attack (late on the 21st). It didn't last long but perhaps there are still a few wrinkles that need to be ironed out.
  5. Without googling, I think it was from the beginning of the unified Canadian currency, c.1860s.
  6. Great. A few weeks ago another that I sent to the USA was returned to me, no reason given. So I'm now a bit nervous sending to the USA. I've emailed you a PDF of the Irish book.
  7. No, I don't think it's Celtic. If it is lead then some kind of token similar to this is likely: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/marc_breitsprecher_classical_numismatist/8/product/england_lead_token__cross/1104924/Default.aspx If it's silver then it could be Anglo-Saxon, as some of those are also similar. Perhaps someone will come along who recognises it! Fingers cross potented 🤔
  8. It certainly looks old. I tried to find images of small coins with a 'cross potent' (cross with T-shaped ends) but didn't come up with anything very similar. Maybe because parts of your original coin are missing/clipped. Could it be lead? There are some similar looking lead Henry VI-VII cross and pellet tokens.
  9. Should be ok now. Some internet nasties were attacking the old predecimal site that I kept online in a secret place.
  10. Thank you both for the orders. wlewisiii, I'll sort you out with a PDF of the Irish book over email.
  11. Can also clearly see the 'WRL' on the reverse. Westair Reproductions Ltd, I think. They make replicas for museum gift shops etc and they always have WRL stamped on them.
  12. No print planned for the foreseeable I'm afraid. I should be able to prodive a PDF version for you.
  13. I know, it's embarrassing that there hasn't been one for so long. Ideally I think I'd like to hand the reigns to someone else to do that and just be the publisher, if you know anyone!
  14. Did you order via: https://coinpublications.com/product/the-bronze-coinage-of-great-britain-freeman/ If so, it'll be reasonably fast. I have a few in Germany that I use to fulfil international orders, as postage is much cheaper from here. The UK warehouse has 2 or 3 left at the moment and I just ordered a small re-print yesterday, so with any luck no one will notice the gap.
  15. No, it didn't have anything to do with it. And I can't for the life of me find how to remove it. I think I added it to the customisable header area and then deleted it and nothing is shown in the header part, but it won't go away.
  16. Yes, it does seem to be normal speed again. He (host) turned it off and on again!
  17. Looks like the next major new version will include a night theme by default. For this version it can be done with an add-on. I'll look into it.
  18. I chose Invision all those years ago and have used it ever since. I'm afraid I have no experience with the alternatives. phpBB may have been the only competition back in 2002. I always delay major updates for as long as possible because they always causes complete failure, like the one in October last year. There are of course many other server-side factors that play major roles in causing it to go belly-up when upgrading. It would probably be even worse attempting to migrate a fairly large forum to something else at this stage, so I'll stick with it as long as it works. I'm no whizz though. There are probably many other capabilities that I haven't explored.
  19. The 'test' thing has been there for a while. It was something I did and tried to undo. I thought it was only visible to me! It would seem that my host is probably having issues, as my other websites are also slow. I'll get them to check things.
  20. Oh no, not this all over again. From now on I'm going to delete any posts mentioning or referencing high ranking politicians/world leaders. The last 3 posts have been hidden from view.
  21. In the UK before 1971 the currency was made up of 20 shillings and each shilling consisted of 12 old pence, so 240 pennies in a pound. It was based on the very old Roman libra, solidus, and denarius (so it was Italian ). The existing pound sign £ still looks like an 'L' and old pennies were suffixed with a 'd' so e.g. 6d was sixpence. It wasn't called 'pre-decimal' at the time but afterwards when everything was decimal (e.g. the pound remained the same but was made of 100 new pennies) the older style division of the pound into shillings and old pennies became known as pre-decimal.
  22. There is a decimal coin section: https://www.predecimal.com/forum/forum/61-decimal-coins/ But the forum is mainly focussed on pre-decimal coinage (before 1971). Some members do have some involvement with decimal coins but I don't think many buy those larger silver proof issues. I assume you bought it because you are a Freddie Mercury fan?
