  1. With a penny as nice as that? Oooo, shame.
  2. No, in 1988 it was definately copper I think, I'm talking very recently they changed to silver, 1993 onwards or something.
  3. Well if we don't see her, I'll start a petition and collect all your comments to forward them to her.
  4. Well I hope they stay fine in the long term.
  5. Keeps you coming back doesn't it!
  6. Nuts (but where did squirrel come from?) Now careful with nuts, we musn't forget our new rules
  7. Paypal, credit card, green backs, money order in US$...Whatever. I have a London account in US$ you know
  8. Nope, worse than that, I was very rude in an email to her, and haven't heard anything since Erm, she's either ill, my email doesn't work, or she's not talking to me....I hope she's ill (in the nicest possible way)
  9. Well I detected a little irony there, did you, fellow forumees? Talking of fellows, where are all the ladies around here (apart from Eliza of course) She's the only one. When I saw Penny Master I got excited, but realise now Penny Master is male (Sorry Penny Master), or of course she would be 'Penny Mistress', surely.
  10. I'm damn sure it's gold/silver these days. Refer to the Britannia's on p484 of Spink 2004.
  11. It's here: http://www.predecimal.com/newsletter/numbe...ixpence1674.jpg And look out for those indentation in one of the shields, it also has a very slight kink on the edge. Apart from that it's very pretty. it was up for £130 in the newsletter, but I'd take £100 for it.
  12. I think right now, the most important rule, is: Don't terminate regular members' membership!
  13. Well you're bloody right I use the most expressive language, so would you, if you had to keep an eye on you rabble all day long. You're enough to make a saint swear....As my Mum always used to say (and probably still does).
  14. Great, do you need a pic again?
  15. Great, but i bet your coins will be green in 5 years! I had a WHSmith album, when I was a nipper, thought it was great until the coins started sweating, going funny colours, and in the worse case scenario getting bronze disease. If you want you're pipes fixed, ask a plumber. If you want to buy a book, an inkjet cartridge, and an ice lolly, ask WHSmith. If you want a coin album from a quality manufacturer contaning inert pages, ask me
  16. I don't even want to think about that! Obviously you have to pay tax on what profit you make in selling coins, but I don't know about the capital gains side of things. I get the impression that hobby dealers and private individuals that sell the odd coin, never declare anything anyway
  17. Never ask 'how rare is it?' that makes you sound bad, like all you care about is the value of it, when it's actually a very nice design on those. Like with most coins, it isn't rare at all (2.6 Million made) and it lists for US$6.00 (about £3.50) in EF condition.
  18. But Kuhli has provided you with answers, I am honestly very busy and perhaps I don't have any in stock at the moment.
  19. Erm, well thanks for doing that! I did have some guidelines once, but most of it is common sense isn't it, and I just delete offensive things when and if they appear. And they rarely do, because IP addresses are registered and email addresses are verified. I don't mind swearing when it is in it's place for expressive purposes, but will not tolerate the very bad swear words, the type that can bring hardened criminals to tears! (like, Poo and perhaps bum... You know the ones!) The rest is about right though, but perhaps you could have a word with the owner of this webspace and the creator of this forum (that's me) before you make any more of your own unofficial rules. Like your enthusiasm though!
  20. Because you can contact me through the personal messenger on here, or just email me, and I'll probably believe you.
  21. All you new members, please be aware that as you are contributing to my website by discussing subjects and giving your valued opinions, I will be pleased to give discounts on anything on the website. Penny Master, perhaps the 1853 Penny? And it goes for books and accessories too.
  22. I knew that was you Bob, I wonder if it was your age that caused you to forget to log in ;-) I'll put your posts up to 30, least I can do.
  23. Well, the pictures were good enough, it was sold in good faith at a fair auction, so the market says it was worth £110.00 (what it sold for). Personally I would try to avoid it, but I expect I'd be interested at £40 or a bit more. But please bear in mind that is a dealer opinion and not a collector.
