  1. Or HMGM as on some Victorian medals. I'd heard about the alleged Hitler thing, and how fussy he was with the coins. I suppose those are all pretty good reasons to push him out and let it go to the Duke of York, you have to take being a King quite seriously I would have thought. It would have no doubt been very interesting if had been King though wouldn't it.
  2. Triumph! (although Punks never had Motorbikes, you're getting your fringe groups confused dear boy!)
  3. It's a magazine that blokes in pin stripe suits and Olli reads!
  4. Full marks for the picture attempt! Can you now scan each side at 300dpi, I'd like to see the rims with more clarity. I'd give you £15 for it, if it really is a die slip error.
  5. Well, you never know what goes on behind Whitehall doors. What were the more serious reasons that they wanted HRH King Edward VIII out of the way, i've never looked into it?
  6. Ok, no pressure or anything. It's well worth it for £5.75 (to you) inc postage. Goes into a lot of detail with varieties, and you get all the other mintage figures too.
  7. Plenty of ideas there for my Radio show! In between tracks I could even take some calls on coins Mind you, perhaps even Twisted Sister is still too far out for the average BBC 3 Counties listener!
  8. Oh yeah, just noticed it says the King died in 1936 above! The palace would probably rather that had happened, and I bet they considered faking his death, like with Princess Di. (oooo Conspiracy )
  9. The book I do, Collectors Coins GB 2004, has all that info in it.
  10. I sold a 1937 set without the crown or case, 2 days ago for £110.00 If the case was not nice, £120 was probably not really a bargain. The spink price is really for absolutely perfect coins and case, strictly speaking, with no toning...Although that's near enough impossible because the inside of the case tones the coins.
  11. They are there, if you're willing to take a chance. Without any risk at all, I have literally hundreds of little bargains on this website
  12. I think Coin News goes out to over 10,000 worldwide. I wouldn't bother advertising in it if it was just 1000!
  13. I sometimes do, but when someone wants a particular coin and is willing to pay a fair price I usually end up selling! I do have a few things put aside, but they never stay there for long!
  14. Punk (perhaps '85 was a bit late, but there you go)
  15. You can have one for £12 + £5.00 postage, so £17.00 total. I can't go much lower on those without making a loss! You will not be dissapointed though, they really are great quality, and I'm not just saying that. Kuhli: What about this 1853 Half penny to go with your Penny: http://www.predecimal.com/forsale/halfpenny1853b.jpg Proof Half Penny, well it only says £150 in Spink.
  16. Hmmmm, has a way to go yet.
  17. The initials under the bust tell me that it is definitely modern, Donald R Golder did that one in probably about 1999 I believe, re modelled for a special African coin to commemorate 100 years of the British monarchy, that never was. Don't touch it with a barge pole, and the seller is either a fool, or lying. Isn't it potentially dangerous with all these patterns around, when they fall into foolish hands....And it already has a bid. Knowledge is power.
  18. No, I haven't been pruning any posts. I don't know why it would lie to you like that, these things are often just temporary glitches, is it still doing it?
  19. Is he still alive? I saw him on German MTV in an interview recently, didn't know he had his own show? What kind of show is it?
  20. All looks American to me, and I wonder what position UKGeezer has in the company? UK marketing department perhaps!
  21. God dang right I am! But seriously, I wasn't sure what it was.
  22. Is a fender the bumper?
