  1. Just listening to the free Oasis concert tonight in Heaton Park. Good audio as it is only 3/4 mile away. Richard Ashcroft is currently performing, so waiting for the main act to come on. The house cost 23K 43 years ago, but we've probably had that much back in ticket costs over the period. Tried to post this at 7:45, but kept getting a forbidden message whichever way I tried, but now works for some reason.

  2. I used to live the same distance from the MK Bowl in the late 80's early 90's, with the stage facing our way, so had all the big concert sound for free as well. Out with the beers. Michael Jackson, Simple Minds etc etc.... ( Kim Wilde's singing was so off she drove us indoors.....:-) ) I'd like to smugly point out that my fingerprints are all over the guitar pedal boxes being used on the Oasis tour, because I was part of their development in a small way, so Noel has paid for my beer whilst not listening to his concert!

  3. To expand - a few beers, a packet of cigars and a garden chair to recline in. Happy days. The lyrics and music were crystal clear. Saved myself a few hundred quid there. Just need more beers for tomorrow's concert.

  4. Thinking about this a little more, I suspect that this job is intended for somebody from a wealthy family, who doesn't need the money, but who has to be paid, hence the minimum wage quoted. Joining a business like this one would be a prestige appointment, rather than a financially valuable one, and thus suitable for somebody who wants a job in a 'posh' environment working with often high value items.

  5. The skill set needed goes way beyond a minimum wage job. Factor in travelling into London, and it is difficult to see who would be attracted by this job. Certainly not people with the skills and experience required, who would do much better elsewhere.

  6. Anyway, it sold for £860, I thought the Americans might push it into the stratosphere…still prefer mine at £298
