  2. Yes, the 46 is quite common. It might be worth pointing out that of the 1945s I've seen, many had a much paler toning than is found on the other dates, misleading to the impression that maybe they were not toned.

  3. I remember the old penny falls and looking to see if there were any old ones ready to fall. I remember spotting an 1895 (when I was trying to complete a date set 1860-1967) and spending about 2/- before it finally fell. It's the only coin from my very early phase of collecting (I was about seven years old) that I still have. Also trying for an 1883 a couple of years later, running out of money, and getting it by putting a lolly stick into the slot. (Hope the statute of limitations has expired on that!)

  4. I got this reply from the fitzwilliam museum. They were so helpful and I'm really thankful to all those who help "Thank you for your enquiry. Your coin is a billon dinero of Joanna and Charles (1506-1516) from Barcelona. The obverse inscription begins after the crown of the bust IOA. KAR. OLV, and the reverse reads BA/CA/NO/VA. Catalogue no. 2974. Ref. Adolfo, Clemente y Juan Cayon, Las Monedas Espanolas (Madrid, 2005) Best wishes, Richard"
