  2. Oh dear, time to leave this Forum I guess.
  3. Today
  4. Well, here you are, not too hard to find, read the whole exchange in "Proof there is no god", last comment June 29th 2020 in "Nothing whatsoever to do with coins". Your helpful contributions inserted into my previous message below are in bold: Well, if you can't see the lies you're being fed, that's your lookout. I thought this would happen with you, as I've backed you into a corner No you haven't except inside your own head of having to discuss my point which lets the police off. So it's flounce off time. Spin it any which fucking way you want, which is your main MO That's a shame. All my statistics are official government statistics, and I've drawn the correct conclusions from them. So a bit of thinking and reasoned argument would have been appreciated, but i don't think you had any. We've given you that, but AS I SAID ABOVE you only read stats and articles which suit your sad points. I remember you tried this faux-outrage when I pointed out BAME voting patterns. Then when I showed it was in a BBC report, you went a bit quiet. Anyway, this is where your dogma has now got you - you support an organisation that wants to defund the police, Uh? What the f**k are you burbling about? and the consequences of that mean losing the entire justice system, the prisons, the lot, because the police are the foundation and enforcement of all that of course. So no rule of law - who should be looking in the mirror, now? You should, along with your ex-policemen NRA buddies. Now you can spin this as a flounce if you like. I'm going to let you have the last and probably very unpleasant word. Be my guest. Goodbye. I'm blocking you now. Lovely, anyway, more lies in your last message. 1. Give me an example of a "vitriolic" reply I've given you, you say you've received "nothing but vitriol". Do you know what the word vitriol means? I doubt it, but for a good example see your inserts above. A truly foaming at the mouth episode. and this one makes me laugh. Feel free to read the whole thread again, and get back to me with your totally predictable non-change of mind, or perhaps abuse. You must think I was born yesterday: 2. If oldcopper can provide a link to the conversation he mentioned above, then I'm quite prepared to read it and to apologise if it's appropriate, i.e. if what he says is true.
  5. Yes, at a certain angle with my coin above you can detect the H.
  6. I'm happy to go with that. I do realise that politically I'm in the minority here, but most of you guys don't have a problem with it.
  7. The other thing you have to consider is that what's left of the H has been artificially rubbed away on a worn penny in modern times, then the whole coin distressed in order to hide what was done.
  8. With closer 8's - they appear slightly wider around the H.
  9. Come on guys, I go to this thread for a chuckle, not to read personal remarks.
  10. Very similar to a coin of mine
  11. Is it possible there's a hint of a remaining crossbar, as highlighted below?
  12. Oh dear, you blocked me straight after your foul mouthed rant. So you know exactly what I'm talking about.
  13. Yesterday
  14. I said to Pete that I thought there should be evidence of the H as the bottoms of the 8's are visible, and using rarestpennies images I mocked up where the H should be - there are no remnants which would normally be visible, so its either altered very carefully or it wasn't an H to start with. The gap between 8's does look too narrow too. Edit: mock-up isnt exactly to scale but is a good representation.
  15. His constituency is Newark apparently. I wonder if Kemi Badenoch has reflected on possible anagrams that could be made...?

      • Haha
  16. The problem with those H buns is that being so close to the edge, the H is much more prone to wear than the date digits. I've lost count of "wrong" 1882 pennies offered for sale as "no H " pennies!
  17. If oldcopper can provide a link to the conversation he mentioned above, then I'm quite prepared to read it and to apologise if it's appropriate, i.e. if what he says is true. However, I've received nothing but vitriol from him in the past, but I don't expect him to admit that. I've only ever blocked one member of these forums. He knows who he is.
  18. I'll try that for the forums where it happens. Most work normally though.
  19. Yes it's not great. It's pulled most of the information off the convict records site i linked above. It might be able to pull up some stuff off one of the Genealogy website's about him though 🤞
  20. I never trust any AI answer to be even 1% accurate.
  21. Stunning stuff, absolutely love it 👏👏👏
  22. And there was me having a very similar chat with Peter yesterday. The wrong obverse according to the "law" but absolutely no sign of an H ever existing.
  23. You should be able to find out more about him using Gemini Ai. I pulled this up quickly. You could probably ask further questions and get some more details from it. https://gemini.google.com/share/1a43cd2e2c35
  24. I am not a member. I found the site by chance using "George Pettet Transported to the Colonies" as a google search. It was the top link.
  25. Wow! Well found! If you are a member on that site, feel free to add a copy of my picture if you think it would be appreciated.
  26. https://convictrecords.com.au/convicts/pettet/george/97932 Could be him. According to the details added later on by a lady called Diane Jones he was executed for a murder carried out in Oatlands , Australia a few years after he arrived in Australia.
  27. That is a tough one. My first impression was George Pettet. But it's a C punch instead of a G. Perhaps he didn't have a G punch. But if that was the case there could be other letters substituted by other punchs so it would make it extremely difficult to research i guess.
  28. Apoligies for the misunderstanding. I am not too clued up on those type of marks. They are chop marks i think. There may be a book somewhere with them in. I know there is books on the counterstamped trade tokens of the 18th century & 19th century covering the likes of the Bradford & Keighley workhouse tokens to name a few. Galata do a good one.
