I wasn't aware of a specialized version so Googled the difference......so for anyone else who may not know; The First Edition (1986): Published as a loose-leaf catalog in an A4 binder, the 1986 edition covers the entire British bronze penny series from 1860 to 1970. These specialized A5 binder editions provide significantly deeper die-variety analysis, highly detailed enlargement photos, and die-pairing values across four distinct grades. Because the original 1986 book was an exhaustive overview covering a 110-year period, it provides the macro-view of the entire series. The specialized editions zoom in on specific eras to help advanced collectors identify rare die varieties, striking errors, and distinct obverse/reverse collar types.

Would be tricky using a lathe a precision milling machine would be more suitable, I have one but dont have accurate scales to weigh a coin afterwards. Using a lathe to remove the legends you would also remove Britannias foot for example and part of the exergue.

Allowing himself to stand again would need an amendment to the constitution, and he won't be able to get that done. But I find it hard to believe he has any intention of leaving the White House, and I expect him to stop at nothing to try to stay there. His death would simplify matters, but part of me hopes that doesn't happen. I'll be watching from a distance of course.

I think he has already explored that option, but if he tried to enact it, all hell would let loose and would result in massive internal upheaval of the violent kind. As ever, he says something and waits for the reaction before pursuing whatever he is trying to implement. The military swears an oath of allegiance to the Constitution, not Trump, so you have an instant division of the armed forces, and as much as he thinks he is popular, that would be a step too far in the view of most Americans, whatever side they are on. Only him and his buddies would benefit in the short term at the expense of the rest of the population who will of necessity have a hard time. But in time he will turn on his friends too, as all dictators end up doing this eventually when someone disagrees with them. IMO It won't fly - thankfully.

In the overall scheme of things, the legend doesn't actually weigh that much. I doubt it would be more than 0.2-0.3g, if that. Whilst the relief appears quite prominent, it doesn't actually cover that much surface area given both limb thickness and height is less than a mm for just about any letter, and there is plenty of space in the holes. I guess if you have access to a lathe and are practical, you could try removing them off a good penny and measure the actual weight loss.

I’ve had a 1597 sixpence saved in my watch list for a couple months, now, but thought I’d do a little check to see whether there are any others out there. I used the term ‘Elizabeth I 1597 sixpence,’ and then simply ‘1597 Sixpence,’ unable to find the sixpence I know is listed on eBay. Why is this? And why, when I search for, say, ‘Elizabeth I shilling anchor,’ would it give me William III coins, Elizabeth sixpences, tun shillings, etc., and then, if I can be bothered to keep scrolling through, find an Elizabeth I anchor shilling about 15 coins down the list? It baffles me!

Call it the Trump effect. Very few people in this world can move markets like a US president, and very few US presidents have had ambitions to tank their own economy like Trump, due to his Stable coin collateral, which will inflate the debt away. The pound isn't stronger because of the left wing government in this country, rather because the tea leaf readings of the wannabe dictator across the pond aren't good for the US economy. Trump is of course happy with events because his personal wealth is keeping up with the collapse in the dollar, and he is always right. Methinks American Revolution 2.0 might be closer than you might imagine.

So six years ago the pound was near parity with the dollar an extreme right wing conservative government had taken over and the queen had just died Now we have a much more left leaning government the pound is getting on for $1.50 to the dollar and everyone is predicting doom and disaster prob because america is the only country that can guarantee its oil supply. If I'm understanding things correctly, to do this you need to use underhand methods - it's not a feature. The presence of such manoeuvres helps cement my belief that the only rational bidding strategy is to decide how much you're really willing to pay (a more complex mental process than many give it credit for) and bid once only, as late as you dare. The only proviso I can think of is that buy it now and make offer options are removed by the first bid, so it may be desirable to place a minimum bid early if someone hasn't done so already.

Sorry to keep repeating myself but yes you can if you know how to do it. You maybe don’t believe me but I use eBay probably a lot more than most people and don’t just make things up 😃👍.
