  2. I am no longer allowed to "Edit" a post - is this intentional ? Ah, it's hidden behind the 3 dots !!!!
  3. They must have, because he (or she) has changed it to toothed (but it's still a "boarder" !).
  4. Today
  5. ... and of course toothed border, not beaded (or bearded) both sides. Has anyone told the vendor?

  7. I've always thrown them in the copper scrap. Demonetized, so legal to weigh in.
  8. Well.............! starting off it amazes me that I have accumulated such a diverse range of coins...... without really trying Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth coin from 1621...who would believed it Silver (.813) oh well its old and hammered so its staying with others ...... 🙄

  9. The only date deemed scarce is 1984 - the last year they made them and mostly issued in sets. Having said that, I don't think there are many people collecting them, so may be difficult finding a buyer even for a 1984. They are still exchangeable at banks and the post office, although they hate them. Even though they weigh precisely half the 1p and so can be counted on the scales, for some reason they insist on counting them by hand!

  11. Errrrrrrmmmm!?!?!? I still have all of these un sifted through.... any dates or rare one that I should looking out for? before handing over to a charity ..... Cheers "H"
  12. I'm guessing Austria
  13. Tbf - if it was worth 2p in 2018, it’s probably worth 1p today!

  15. I wonder if there is, by the slimmest of chances, anyone on this forum who knows where Citrus Australasica, the 'finger lime' or 'caviar lime' is a native species? I wonder.....!
  16. ..and in the top pic you can just make out the yellowing fronds of a very old, very small jacaranda. Like most tropical flowering trees, they should only be grown for their lovely foliage here in the UK- they just will not flower in a pot. In the spring I am going to plant a Caesalpinia Gilliesii and a Citrus Australasica outside, against the shiny fence in the sheltered corner, where I can give them their own little greenhouse for the winter.
  17. The price is on the low side as well. Tony Clayton's valuations gives GBP 5000 for a 1905 half crown in EF condition. I think I would ask for a better photo if I was considering bidding for this coin. Again a TPG by PCGS or NGC would add more credibility and price.
  18. Kemi Badenoch says I should resign. Why me? i don’t know what I’m supposed to have done. Maybe I left a knife in the fork drawer or something…
  19. I think that's an optical illusion, caused by the fact the upright of the orb appears to be bending to the right (wear?) - without that the orb is dead centre.
  20. From the other direction Turmeric, Delonix regia ( from old seeds from John), delicate hibiscus etc. I got fed up with my dark garden so I've done something about it!!
  21. This is what my garden looks like in the cold and damp!! Cycad, Musa, Echium, Canna, Hedychium all wrapped up. Soil heaters in the pots if it gets very cold. I fit a translucent tarp across the veranda, and we get a small room full of plants to play cards in in the winter! Lemon/lime cross full of fruit this year- gonna do some lime pickle....!!
  22. Will do...🫡
  23. Be careful you check with the right city mint. Paris mint 1786 is very scarce and valuable. Orleans is much more common.
  24. OMG! 😲 I have just taken a look to see how much it many be worth....Blimey... it would have a been a pocket money purchase way back.... just goes to show you you. 👍
  25. Nothing that looks obviously suspicious. Although the positioning of the orb is unusual and is certainly further to the right than the example I used to own.
  26. Interesting. Here is my 1906, which I have no reason to doubt, and there seems to be a slight offset:
