It has a good amount of red remaining, and the detail work is just stunning. I really don't like red copper coins, but this one has mellowed enough for me to like it. 1795 Yorkshire, Halfpenny token (DH-63) What an exceptionally beautiful copper token! I wouldn't have any compaints having it in my collection! 1 Quote

The detail may be great but not the actual history - cliffords tower was actually made of wood circa 1100 not stone as on the token there are reports that it burned down circa 1190 and was rebuilt in stone , therefore the picture on the token is a pure fabrication of the real thing Quote

Rob Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Bored. Not strictly copper, but I'm not going to make a 'Let's see your bronze' thread. ex Clarke-Thornhill 835. 3 Quote

Rob Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) Edward VI base penny of York. And before anyone complains, it's about 75% copper Edited March 10, 2017 by Rob Quote
Rob Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 This landed on the doorstep today. P989. Unsurprisingly it becomes the representative example of a flawed die. 1 Quote
cathrine Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I recently made some Victorian bronze acquisitions to my collection: Victorian pennies of 1867, 1882-H, and 1885. 2 Quote
PWA 1967 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 They are quality but probably better in one of the penny threads not copper. Hat off and nice coins Quote
Paulus Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) Bath farthing token - weird sizing of the date numbers but normal for the issue perhaps! Edited March 17, 2017 by Paulus 1 Quote
