Coinery Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 The greater the resolution however the better chance there is of cropping the original image, re-posting it, and still being able to see what's actually there, when someone says 'can we have a closer look at the ribbon!' Quote

Agreed, but that's the absolute resolution. 600 dpi is a relative resolution. So yes, if you start with an image 4500 x 3000 pixels, you can crop it quite a bit, irrespective of the dpi. Quote

Nick Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Thank you. Wat was i doing wrong?I'm not sure. What I did was to use the href to your PhotoBucket library and then copied the individual picture direct links and inserted them using the image button on the toolbar. Quote

Nick Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) What do you guys think to this? Want to make sure its genuineDon't know whether it's genuine or not, but the obverse lettering doesn't look right especially the TT in BRITT. Red Riley Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 The picture is a little blurred in places so not easy to tell much. A good starting point would be to weigh it. Should be 28.30g +/- 0.05g. Quote
Chris roxaboo Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Ive ordered scales. Could do with nothing if its genuine so i can send it bk if its not right. Quote
rpeddie Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 have a look at the edge milling, if it is unevenly spaced or crudely done with a file it would be a fake also have a look at the worn high points of the thistle, if they have a look like they have been worn down with a file or anyother seemingly forced wear rather that the normal of a coin again worth having a look at as far as i can go without getting the better pictures Quote
