Accumulator Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Recently purchased 1849 Penny. This is going to be a upgrade to my set!(at least for now, Ha,Ha)Very nice indeed Bob. Better than the one sold last week at DNW!You must have a really nice Victorian copper collection now. Your 1860/59 is stunning. Do you have any gaps still to fill? Quote
RLC35 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Peter,It's odd you should mention the lottery. After I found the 1849, I did try my luck on the lottery, but I'm sorry to say, I didn't win anything! Ha,Ha!Accumulator,I have most of the Victorians except the following: F14 1860 Sig under foot F8/F9 1860 Mules F45/46/47, +5 below date, 1863Of the above, the one I would really like to find is the F14. If anyone has one to sell... I am interested! Quote

I was actually referring to the Copper pennies, presumably you now have virtually all in EF+? You'll have to get the photos up. Quote

Mine isn't much better, if at all. When I dealt I had no end of 1864's ranging from poor to VG+ - they were all snapped up. So an 1871 in Fine is not to be sneezed at. If I could afford a GVF or better example, I'd buy one. I've got more monney than sense, I'm up to about 86p now.Let's see. 86p = 17/2 in old money. Er, 17 times 12 (rushes for his computer calculator) = 204, plus 2 equals 206 old pennies. That must cover just about every variety of bronze penny known - but how many are EF or better?? Quote

Anyway, I have an example of a bun head young features penny, so I'm sorted. Just the Minton required. Quote

It is almost impossible to spot, even on an Unc specimen. Probably why it was unrecorded/unspotted for so long. Quote
