I don't suppose you could paste me up your source-link for that old text, or PM it to me, i think it's great and more than a tad beautiful? I have a plan! :)

Do you think that might be one of those vintage fairground things, where you can stick your money in a new-fangle-dangle hand-press, with all the wheels and gears on display, and do something exotic to your coin, much like some of the Victorian contraptions at Wookey Hole?

Here's a nicely engraved cartwheel penny for Debbie.

You know Dave I did see that one but didn't really look closely and realise they were birds. Thank you for pointing it out!

If it was some sort of stamping machine Stuart then that might mean that there are other coins out there with the same stamping, must watch out. I've seen those machines around which stamp, flatten and stretch coins but I've always thought them too expensive to let my boys have a go - maybe I should as they might be the collectables of the future :D

When we were kids, a train was the time honoured means of creating flat discs for all those variety collectors out there. :P Anyway, never too old for Thomas.

Here's one for you then Stuart.....

here :)

Ha, ha! He/she wouldn't be able to convince me in a million years that that coin was bent according to his write-up! Nice grade though, if it was cheaper I'd start wondering about chancing two bits of wood and a vice ;-) !

I'm not sure you'd impress too many women today by bending a micro-thin penny!

Couldn't resist these:

Buttercup is a German Empire 50 pfennig, Onions (yes, really) a Victoria 3d and Marie a French Empire 20 centimes.

Like the Buttercup one - although it looks like it has been newly engraved?

I know this won’t float many boats, but here’s one have which I thought rather topical!

Probably the latest love token I have so far. :)

Wow, you don't think it could be an actual silver medal awarded to someone or other?

LOL - Now that would be good, who knows eh? Unfortunately its a comemorative 25 pesos, but it is silver and in a high grade so worth the tenner I paid.

Whilst on the subject I came accross this - would you sell it if it was yours?!

Buttercup is different, it's hand scribed using one V shaped and one half round tool rather than a machine. There is a triangular cut at each end of the letters and then the engraver gives a straight push or goes round curves in small increments.
