Very interesting Matteo, never seen one of these before! (I normally skip the world coin pages in catalogues I receive and on-line!)

Welcome to this excellent Forum by the way, it is by far the best there is for old English coins! :)

Thanks paulus and congratulations for your coin collection... :)

Very nice Matteo. Both the coin and that it has provenance to an earlier collection!

Don't hold me to it because this isn't my area of collecting, but that looks an awful lot like pewter..

It's silver ... Maybe it's the photo not perfect and maybe it's because the precedent owner cleaned it too much

Matteo, i can see what Nordle means, by cleaning, what would the precious owner clean it with? Did you buy from a reputable source, the surface of the OBV does't look great, but as with Nordle i'm no expert on foreign coins, just things that look suspect. Could this have been a shipwrecked coin?

It could be but I don't know ... this coin comes from France maybe it has been found by a detectorist and than cleaned , the price was quite good so I decided to buy it ..... many collectors of this mint have seen it and for every it is good ... it need just to be toned but for this there is no problem

Balwins had one earlier this year, correctly attributed I believe but not half as good as yours.

Yes , you are right . I remember the auction , there were some of this coins in very low conservation .... some were interesting but prices were quite high.
