TomGoodheart Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Very nice Matteo. Both the coin and that it has provenance to an earlier collection! . Quote

Nordle11 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Don't hold me to it because this isn't my area of collecting, but that looks an awful lot like pewter.. Quote
Matteo95 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Don't hold me to it because this isn't my area of collecting, but that looks an awful lot like pewter..It's silver ... Maybe it's the photo not perfect and maybe it's because the precedent owner cleaned it too much Quote
azda Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Matteo, i can see what Nordle means, by cleaning, what would the precious owner clean it with? Did you buy from a reputable source, the surface of the OBV does't look great, but as with Nordle i'm no expert on foreign coins, just things that look suspect. Could this have been a shipwrecked coin? Quote

Could this have been a shipwrecked coin?It could be but I don't know ... this coin comes from France maybe it has been found by a detectorist and than cleaned , the price was quite good so I decided to buy it ..... many collectors of this mint have seen it and for every it is good ... it need just to be toned but for this there is no problem Quote

Matteo95 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Balwins had one earlier this year, correctly attributed I believe but not half as good as yours.Yes , you are right . I remember the auction , there were some of this coins in very low conservation .... some were interesting but prices were quite high. Quote
bagerap Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 It is because of the prices that I remembered it. Over one hundred pounds for the metelin which is crazy. Quote
