Hi all,

From a comment I made to Declanwmagee about the 1921 shillings several of you have picked up on the fact that my latest literary offering is now available. Following the extraordinary success of 'The Identification of British 20th Century Bronze Coin Varieties' whose sales have topped the hundred (J K Rowling watch out), I have been putting together a sequal entitled 'The Identification of British 20th Century Silver Coin Varieties.' This is now ready and available to the collecting public as I have just had my first batch back from the printers. So, if you are a collector of 20thC silver/cupro-nickel and are interested in varieties then this is for you. If you missed out on the 'bronze' book, then I still have copies of this available as well.

Cost of the 'silver' book is £9.99 (240 pages long) and the bronze is £6.99 (140 pages long). Postage in the UK is £3.00. these prices are the 'special deal' prices for forum members. When the latest gets to Amazon in a few months, it'll be £14.99 - bronze is already on there at £12.99, so if you want the 'deal' please let me know. Several members have the bronze book, so if anybody wants to know what its like then GaryD is probably a good man to comment. So far as the silver one goes, Aardhawk has one, so he may be willing to comment also from an unbiased perspective.

If anybody wants either book, then you can get one form me either by:

1. Sending a cheque to me at:

2. Via Paypal using the email address ukc801988231@btconnect.com. You never get spam with am email address like this - no signs of cheap viagra!

Put me down for one, Dave! I'll PayPal you presently, either if I get outbid on this afternoons shopping, or when someone comes into my Shop!

Means I can put off getting a Davies...

Save/reserve a copy of each for me please, and I will square you up during the week. :)

Yes I'd be interested too, in the silver edition (is the bronze one worth getting too? I already have Peck, Freeman, and the first Gouby...)

My main difficulty lies in knowing how to work PayPal from an email address. I only know how to click the PP button on a website, login, find the invoice already waiting for me...

If you log in to your PayPal account (i.e. from paypal.com, not from ebay or another checkout system), you'll see a tab marked "Send money", next to the "My Account" tab that you normally see. Then you'll get a chance to copy and paste an email address in as a recipient.

hope that helps!

I'd say yes to the Bronze book, but then I would as its my book!! You could try asking GaryD for an unbiased opinion or maybe RLC35.

I have Dave's Bronze book, and find it to be a valuable 20th Century reference.

Ordered a copy through Amazon, I did not realize I could have purchased it direct.

It’s now sitting on my desk waiting for the weekend to peruse it fully.

The silver version that is (I already have the bronze version).

Hi Ski,

Yes, I have a few left, so no problem. Use either of the payment methods I mention in my opening post and I'll send you one on.
