Here's one such image: (That's a still from a Blue Peter episode where they used 2 of my coin images in a Penny Farthing Bicycle feature - earned me a Blue Peter badge!) 1 1 Quote
Paddy Posted Monday at 06:01 PM Author Posted Monday at 06:01 PM (edited) Ok - as a try and for want of anything else to post, a picture of my Grandfather's WW2 medals: Yes! Worked fine. Edited Monday at 06:01 PM by Paddy 1 Quote
Chris Perkins Posted Monday at 06:20 PM Posted Monday at 06:20 PM Excellent! Took me a while to ID that last one on the right. Dutch Orange-Nassau, fabulous. The ribbon looks very similar to the standard WWI British War Medal. Quote
Paddy Posted Monday at 07:02 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:02 PM Yes, the Dutch one is for "Knight Commander of the Orange Nassau with Swords", which he got for his work rebuilding the dikes in the Netherlands after the war. (He was an officer in the Royal Engineers.) Have you spotted the mismatch? The TD medal in the miniatures is the correct one I believe, the TE is a replacement as the TD got lost somewhere along the line. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted Monday at 07:22 PM Posted Monday at 07:22 PM There's also a 'MID' leaf on the miniatures, but not on the full size. But if that's how they got to you, assuming your grandfather is no longer with us, then probably best left as they are. 1 Quote

Paddy Posted Tuesday at 09:06 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 09:06 PM Me too! I am not sure what level I should qualify for, but "newbie" sounds a bit naff. 1 Quote
Chris Perkins Posted Tuesday at 09:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:29 PM Both of you are now Enthusiasts, which I know is also below your standing. The default ranks are a bit odd, they go: Newbie, Rookie, Apprentice, Explorer, Contributor, Enthusiast, Collaborator, Community Regular, Rising Star, Proficient, Experienced, Mentor, Veteran, Grand Master. I can change the names and points required, add more etc. 2 Quote

TomGoodheart Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago OK, let's try a different browser .. Drag and .. Nope. Doesn't work for me on Chrome or Opera @Chris Perkins :( Quote
Chris Perkins Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Can you show me a screenshot or shots of exactly what it says and where it goes wrong? Obviously you can't post them here so would have to email. Unless attaching the long way round works. Quote

But that presumably that uses Forum memory and is a bit clunky .. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Sorted, I think! For some reason those who are in the group 'Moderators' were not allowed to upload/drag/attach images. Try it now. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago The five on the left are some of the normal British WWII issue. The Italy one will be relevant later... The star at the top and the 2 on the right... I'm cheating a bit because I know your surname and how to use search engines. Gold one is the general Polish WWII medal and the cross is the Polish Monte Cassino medal. So what does the star on the blue/black indicate? Quote
