Would be more appropriate to be set in a care home with the age of many of the cast - a hell of a lot are dead as well .

I cannot feel anything as it just seems another money screwing exercise from john cleese who always defends himself by pointing a finger at all his ex wives

Here a beautiful Half crown Box I recently purchased.  Made by Joseph Moore  dated 1850 It would appear to be the brass or white Metal one reported to Rogers but unseen.  # 4055 a it is 32.5 mm and 2.5 mm thick with plain edges .  It is silvered inside and contains three prayer plates  medals of the ten commandments, and another ( not sure what it is called)  The Apostles Creed I think,  each of which is 30mm in brass thin and a third 26 mm with the Lords Prayer.  This is not the iron foil version held at the Fitzwilliam.

I would say it is pretty much uncirculated and the contents likely the originals

I saw that for sale , though expensive it really was quality stuff and i am sure you could have waited at least two or three years till something similar came on the market.

I love the box it really is nice , you make me very jealous , moore was a master of lovely little items like this and its in super grade .

I didn't pay the first bid price it was too expensive but I think it is a lovely example .  He certainly did some good work

I found some interesting variations in the BAVARIAN editions recently in the shilling,  but there seems to be a pattern emerging which suggests that there may be 4 versions of each value.  The variation is in the size of the legend and its position on the OBVERSE as well as differences in the design on the REVERSE.  I will go back and try sort them but thought I'd start with the Shilling 

The simplest form has smaller lettering .  The nose points to the base of the R .  The reverse uses a very simple font and there is a star below the shilling with no bars

the second type has larger letters .  The reverse is ornate lettering with a dot and bars on either side .  The nose points between the R and A

type 3 again with larger lettering .  The reverse has a mix of the simple and ornate lettering the Crown is different dot with bar each side below one shilling, and the nose on the obverse points to the A 

many of the letters are overstruck the P of SPIELMARKE over a smaller S , and the H of SHILLING over a smaller S

The history of this series seems a little confusing Rogers has them as all from the C BALMBERGER issues and he notes a number of variations in the legends all seem to be made in Nuremberg .  Rogers only lists #667 and #658 with the tall lettering and the dot with two bars obverse no mention is made of the variation in the lettering directly for these BAVARIEN type in the list although a serif and non serif type is mentioned in the introduction of section 32 .   Because no complete collections have been found it is hard to identify the dates of the issues.  The Smaller lettering and simple reverse must have existed before the larger lettering or else we would not see these over strike letters and the mix of the lettering in ye three suggests movement and changes to the dies Type 1 followed by type 4 type 3 followed by type 2 would be my suggestion based on the star and barred type.  all are listed as RRR or RRR*

If you have any of these BAVARIEN toy coins I am certain much higher quality examples will exist out there.  Especially of TYPE 1 which sadly is the one in poorest condition.  Small simple lettering on both sides

The sixpence and the three pence seem to follow a similar pattern  with the pellet and the star reverse this is unlisted in Rogers  but as there exists a space for it I suspect it might be able to be called # 665  The letters are small with the nose pointing to the base of the R corresponding to Type 1 in the shilling

the second type of sixpence intermediate letters with the nose to between A and R and the Six pence reverse with no central pellet and the dot with bars under the sixpence there are no serifs and the lettering is larger and higher I believe this to different to #663

Rogers #663 and #664 :  664 is with SERIFS on the reverse but as yet I do not have one and he has no image of it as he had not seen one but it is logical to believe that it exists if it follows the same pattern as the shilling and the three pence ...Sadly the collection at the Fitzwilliam have not imaged all the varieties

The Three Pence Rogers has listed 2 varieties #671 and 672  Leaving no space for these new varieties .  This appears to be the small  size font The S of SPEILMARKE is quite far back on the veil  the nose points to the centre of the R  # 672 I think with the reverse without serifs and the pellet and star version
