Just got this- cheap and no real excitement, until I looked closer in.

I'm crap on 1860's, but this appears to have the dots on the rose leaves like Gouby D,

but the colon dots after D:G: to a gap, and D of F:D  to a tooth, like Gouby E...

The both sides are littered with broken letters too......any views?

I'm trying to see if it needs to go in the collection or not and I'm stumped....P1030570.jpeg.76c050200a31497a4d08c3d4e2098826.jpegP1030571.jpeg.1af983db726c2cc5f48709c9197030fe.jpeg

Gouby E/Freeman 3: if in doubt, count the teeth - 138 of the little beauties.

Secret Santa - i stand to be corrected but  i think you meant to say Freeman 13.

Referenced by Gouby as BP1860L Obv E Rev D. (My example has the floating ship, which confused me as the only mention of the floating ship by Gouby is on Rev E.)

As a Minnow and never having seen a freeman reference book i stand corrected. When i see freeman 3 I had never stopped to think that could be a reference to an Obverse. So today i learnt that Freeman 3 is the obverse on the F13 coin.I should have realised my error as Richard mentioned the reference for the Gouby obverse first.

I need to acquire a reference from Gouby Obv/Rev to Freeman Obv/Rev.

I am a minnow when it comes to Penny varieties too, but you can learn a lot from Richard's site: https://headsntails14.wordpress.com/ including relating Gouby and Freeman references.

I agree Paddy. If Richard only knew how much assistance to us minnows he provides. I use Gouby and RICHARD the lion heart.
