Lost_shilling Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Your views on this coin would be much appreciated. I may post a few more if you don't mind. I also have 2 x 1853 Halfpennies which leave me puzzled. Quote
Paddy Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 I am no expert grader, so wait and see what others give before you accept a final answer. I would give Good Fine (F+) to the reverse, but Fine (F) to the obverse because of the surface porosity. That is grading UK standards - US grades would be higher. Quote
copper123 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Good fine from me too , there is some water damage (?) and coin would be nvf without it . Nice beginers coin Quote
RLC35 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Using Dave's grading book as a guide. I would say AVF on the Obverse, and VF on the Reverse. This is not reducing the grading for any porosity, etc. It is a petty nice coin overall. A dealer would mark the coin as VF overall, and would reduce the pricing for any porosity, etc. IMO... Quote
pokal02 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Yes, wouldn't argue with either Fine or GF Quote
