ozjohn Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 A 100 year old coin still bright that hasn't been cleaned in some way unlikely. Perhaps the question should be how carefully was it cleaned? Quote
Coinery Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) Sadly they are all very much cleaned, Craigy! Edit: but if you love them, who cares! Edited November 7, 2017 by Coinery Quote

Peckris Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Perhaps worth pointing out that the majority of pre-1920 halfcrowns turn up in that condition? (Average is GF - GVF). This is because so many were put aside when the silver content was reduced to 50% in 1920. Quote
jaggy Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 (edited) I always like the half crown. Perhaps because my pocket money was increased from one shilling to 2/6d in 1964. That was a lot of money for a kid in those days. Anyway, I have five George V half crowns. This is perhaps the nicest: Edited November 20, 2017 by jaggy 2 Quote
ozjohn Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Nice coin. What grade was allocated to this coin? Quote

VickySilver Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 That's a very nice coin and much above average for uncirculated specimens! Quote

Not the greatest of photos as it was taken through the slab. As you know, it is not my main area of interest. But sometimes a (affordable) coin comes along that is too nice not to buy. Quote
