Hello Bob, The 8 in the date appears to be over something. The left hand side of the 8 appears to be filled, very much like 1861, 1862 overdate pennies.

I just bought it without looking :D

When i blew the picture up after though i dont think so.

Anyway if it goes in the bin it wont be the first time :)

Have you got a picture Scott thats brighter / Lighter than the eBay one ?.

I dont know how you could see anything resembling a tiny part of a one from the eBay picture.

However if your right HAT OFF.

Needs a close-up photo Scott, but good luck! Here is a pic of mine for comparison.

Looks legit from the ebay picture, although when you compare it to Jerry's wonderful example the underlying 1 doesn't line up with the teeth in the same way.

Jerry, is your coin one of the examples on my website ? If not, could I have photos please ?

Richard

It is on your site Richard as one offered on Ebay in 2015 I think. I bought it slabbed from an Ebay seller in California after negotiating a reasonable reduction from his initial price.

I think I need to update you on one or two though, I will check and email in due course.

Jerry
