  1. When I looked at his other items this 1862 was shown:
  2. Ahh, insults. The last resort of a limited intellect. I can no longer report the listings since they've been taken down.
  3. Funny how neither listing is still live if they're his. Would have been interesting to see how much the bidding ran up based on those photos, but not for the poor sod that bought them, of course.
  4. Good article, thanks. Now I know what this dot to dot 10p is that people keep harping on about.
  5. Thanks for the second opinion Colin. I'd get it on ebay as a rare, scarce, unlisted variety except it's my only fat 8.
  6. Thanks Colin. It's missing the coppers though!
  7. I can't see that it would be any different myself. Not something I would do.
  8. I actually like the die crack better than the letters - it's the biggest I've seen. To me it's just defective, and not something I'd want (like many so-called "varieties" IMO).
  9. The crown does look a bit good, doesn't it?
  10. Blimey, that's not pretty is it?
  11. Colin, sorry I'm still here! I'd value your opinion on this 1865 if you'd be so kind. I think the 6 is over another 6? Seems to be something there to me. What do you think?
  12. Raw. Slabbed coins won't fit in my trays.
  13. I will once Pete's got his hide round to the Post Office.
  14. Now 03, 04, 05, 06, 08, 09, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18H, 19H, 19KN, 20, 22, 26.
  15. I'm not after buying this, but wondered what you lot thought of this penny? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-1860-PENNY-MANY-OF-THE-LETTERS-WEAK-OR-MISSING-PARTS-BRITISH-COIN-VICTORIA-/361451067530 I'd want a nice one, if it was me.
  16. Think it's some kind of lamination error Terry. Was discussed on about page 4 of this thread but it took me a while to find mine.
  17. It's in ebay's interest to encourage the sale of the fake. The more it goes for, the higher the fees. PayPal too. Same as it's in their interest to encourage shill bidding, which is why you can no longer see bidder's identities to spot the patterns.
  18. Yes, poor, broke mrbadexample is waiting for the postman.
  19. I need to leave this forum. You're all bad people. I come on asking for advice about a £250 coin and together you talk me into spending three times that. Now what am I going to do for beer this week, eh? You should be ashamed of yourselves. I blame the 'stralian, he started it.
  20. Anyone used that seller?
  21. Don't you start too! I'm having enough trouble sitting on my hands as it is!
  22. The florin too.
  23. But this is where I get all nervous and distrusting - what's to say someone hasn't switched (one or more) of the coins? I don't know that I'm sufficiently clued up to notice. I have no experience of anything at that end of the market.
  24. Well funnily enough I haven't got a 1927 florin. Or threepence. It's a good idea. It also blows the budget a bit. Hmmm...there are a few to choose from too. This one seems nice: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-1927-SILVER-PROOF-6-COIN-SET-CROWN-TO-THREEPENCE-IN-HARD-CASE-OF-ISSUE-/201517546371?hash=item2eeb61bb83:g:aH4AAOSwX~dWs3mu Oh gawd, what have you done to me?
  25. Can't answer that Nuts, haven't been to either. I'll be at the Midlands one in March, but can't make York. It would interrupt me watching the Tour de France.
