  1. I won9'mt be able to typ7e muc8hn t8hnis weekend because I9'mve 7gbot all excited about t8hne 6 Nations and sp7illed c8hnamp7a7gbne on my keyboard. :(
  2. I don't even understand why it's being sold. I'd take one look at that auction and automatically disregard every other item the seller has. Even if it is some kind of Polish pharmaceutical product.
  3. Or you need a new button for your donkey jacket.
  4. I'd need to know if they were contemporary or a later addition. Makes this nice grade coin look not so bad after all. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1918KN-GEORGE-V-BRITISH-PENNY-COIN-NICE-GRADE-SCARCE-/161953571211?hash=item25b52f618b:g:8UIAAOxyZzlTdUmX
  5. Cheers. I might have been wondering if I knew that was a thing.
  6. My white paper will be coin rubbings. In blue crayon. List now reads: 03, 04, 05, 06, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18H, 19H, 19KN, 20, 22, 26. Thanks to everyone who's helped so far.
  7. That sounds like I have to do homework.
  8. Just out of interest, can you tell me what causes the strike doubling?
  9. Oh, and the Spink guide I have is 2005 and I'm still using it. Nothing's changed, right?
  10. Could you let me know what you have available and what you would want for them please? Then I could take a look and have a think about it? I don't mind not haggling if your prices are firm. Although I might still try.
  11. I don't seem to be able to edit my original post (is there a time limit on that or something?) so updated requirements above.
  12. Err...a quick question on etiquette if I may...should one's haggling be done off the general forum?
  13. That's kind, thank you. I could let you give it to me. Seriously though, the price would have to be pretty keen as UNC is probably a bit better than I'd be looking for in that date.
  14. Well, as it happens, me please!
  15. Hi all, My collection of pennies it a bit, err, awful, to be honest. Lots of them haven't been upgraded since I started my collection digging through the dealer's (s)crap boxes 30 or more years ago. Fine or less, most of them. I'm sure there must be plenty of you who have top grade specimens, so I might well be interested in your spares. I'd be looking for at least GVF-EF but not really much higher if I'm honest. I don't want to shell out for FDC when I'd be quite happy with EF to fill the hole. So, as a start I'm looking for 03, 04, 05, 06, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 12H, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18H, 18KN, 19H, 19KN, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27. I know most of you think condition is of paramount importance, but I'd rather have a half decent set of 30 than 6 top notch coins. Each to their own, I guess. I simply can't be arsed to trawl through ebay for the VERY RARE UNC dogs I see so many of, so thought it might be sensible to ask here. I also realise I've not been on the forum long and trust takes time to build, but will appreciate any help I can get. So, what have you got nice eh? Cheers, MBE
  16. Just put them on the table to take the photo, that'll be fine. But spacing rings...now you're talking!
  17. Yup. That. Where's the dislike button?
  18. That's a great job. Even looks to have aligned the screw heads too which shows it's a proper job. Although I prefer them horizontal myself.
  19. And Gary, that is one lovely bit of kit. I covet it. Nice to hear that Peter will make / modify to your specifications.
  20. This! This bothers me - it's not right and gets on my OCD nerves! ?
  21. It's the eternal dilemma - more coins or something to put them in. ? By the way, I have been admiring your rapid work so far - some very nice half crowns you've got there. ?
  22. That's not as easy as you make it sound. Internal diameter 20mm has an outside diameter of 26mm. Although I'm being a bit of a pedant - your point is that there would be some sort of acceptable workaround. Having said that, I can't see any spec on the depth of a capsule, and the drawers have a 6mm capacity which I suspect may not be deep enough.
  23. Errr...not entirely. As in I haven't really got any. The trays are on top of the bookcase.
  24. I didn't think the green from a PCV wallet or album was the same as verdigris? I thought it was due to the chlorine leaching out from the PVC over a number of years?
  25. Well, most of my collection is in 13 Lindner trays, which I can always buy more of. I do like it for the farthings because it's a nice snug fit. It's the early dates, about 1860-1874 that are in the plastic wallets, plus the overspill of other denominations. Certainly, a few more trays would be a cheaper option. Are you saying you use the albums with the pocketed sleeves, into which you insert a paper envelope? If so, how do you see them? I like to have a nose at mine...
