  1. Come on guys. Remember this is a Coin Forum and don't get personal. Leave it to Rebecca Vardy and Colleen Rooney.
  2. "never was a truer word spoken" referred to the "we'd better get used to it" rather than "What we've experienced the last week is not a freak event".
  3. Never was a truer word spoken because, as sure as hell, the biggest culprits are going to do nothing about it. And, with our 1% emissions, we're just p*ssing in the wind.
  4. Agreed (but surely you didn't go through the catalogue with a calculator ?)
  5. They have offered no explanation. Could it be that this approach gives them the best results ???
  6. No, at least on Ebay you can see the progressive bidding but with LCA you're completely blind, submitting commission bids and hoping that a) you'll win and b) you won't have to pay your top bid.
  7. It's possible that they really paid over the odds to get their first example and then want to wait a while for inflation to raise prices before they sell ?
  8. Yes, I was surprised at that. I've never been all that fussed about the triple F, even though it's a very clear "variety". There do seem to have been plenty of examples over the years.
  9. A free man in Paris ? (J Mitchell classic)
  10. It's been up there as no.6 for a few weeks !
  11. Is it the copper proof (P1502) or bronzed copper proof (P1501) ? I don't think that I have ever seen a copper proof penny with full lustre - I assume that, when newly struck, they were lustrous ?
  12. https://bid.roxburys.com.au/lots/view/4-6IH48M/great-britain-victoria-penny-1860-gfine
  13. Did anyone on here buy the 3rd known 1860 I over T last week (Roxbury auction, Australia) ?
  14. Yes, but that was Scotland. Nicola must have sorted it !
  15. I'd agree and would also say that the presence of a die crack doesn't constitute a variety, i.e. a unique combination of obverse and reverse types, and so I wouldn't expect to see die cracks (resulting from heavy die usage) mentioned in any reference book.
  16. The sooner the UK gets to net zero, the sooner the worldwide problem will be fixed and we'll all get back to normal.😎
  17. It doesn't show on the photo of my proof but I'll take a look in the flesh.
  18. I can't detect that line on any of my specimens.
  19. The ability to negotiate our own deals on Covid vaccines ?
  20. Absolutely - cabinet friction doesn't exist (unless you're Boris !)
  21. The true 1858 over 3 (or 2 as is now thought) always has a die flaw through the base of the date numerals:
