I have put about about 30 bids in, I just put the max I am happy with if I get any then great if I don't at least I am not there to get drawn into a bidding war.

I see the Thomas h law collection has fetched some phenomenal prices!!!! Just two examples, the excessively rare Henry vii sovereign $500,000 and a una and the lion $105,000 etc many more over $100,000!!!!

Yes, mine are kept in a fire proof safe but interestingly I knew someone who had a collection of Elizabeth 1 sixpences kept in plastic envelopes he hid them in the oven one time when he was going out. Ofcourse u can guess what I am going to say, he forgot and put the oven on, by the time he had realised the envelopes had all melted round the coins and almost encapsulated them all, quick way for Cgs to Slab maybe??? Anyway he eventually was able to remove the plastic after a long arduous task and the coins hadnt been in long enough to damage them, he was lucky that time!!!!

There is Steve, Semra and Paul and then a chap in Warrington who is one of the graders. Each coin is graded by Steve, Paul and the chap on Warrington to make sure they all agree on the grade!!!! Semra seems to run the office, Paul seems to do the cataloging etc and Steve is the front man and main share holder!!! I must admit I get on well with all of them but yes I agree Semra can have her bad days but just think she has perhaps too much to do and gets over stressed lol!!! Sounds like most women I know to be fair ;-)

Has anyone had the new DNW catalogue?? a fairly decent collection on offer with some nice proof/pattern crowns and halfcrowns!!!! Unfortunately with it being coinex week I dread to think of some of the prices!!!!

When I suggested binary it wasn't to be offensive ;-) I know a few dealers who use binary to an extent but might instead use to the power 5 or 10 etc

Patrick Deane is still dealing does a lot with modern coins now but he does still do old coins, he was at the last London show. David trayner is still about too, comes to the odd Wakefield or Harrogate show though he can be more commonly seen in the pubs of Manchester ;-)

York was really busy on the Friday!!! Unfortunately there was no air conditioning and it was very hot!!! People were walking round absolutely dropping with sweat!! It was very uncomfortable!!!

Yes I believe it was a person who runs a company similar to the London mint office. I do know the person just can't remember his company name!!! It will be definitely for some sort of promotion, certificate maybe box and a nice high price targeted at the public as opposed to the real coin collector!!!

You will all be interested to know they sold for over £50,000 with premium it is over £60,000!!! At least they won't come flooding on the market at next for nothing ;-)
