  1. update is luckily the guy did not reply to any of my messages or to the case that i opened so hopefully makes the escalation of the case easier. suppose havent gotten the full extent to how bad this could have been due to him not replying i imagined it could have been alot worse, in future ill be recording all my packages if they seem suspect. still waiting on decision though but should be a clear cut case really
  2. Think he meant that because they were so rubbish(i myself waited 60 days each time for return) that he will not be sending any of the rest of his collection to be graded. As a slab fan myself and after looking for other alternatives i use NGC now(didn't realize they had european sites thank you BRG ).
  3. Sixpence-another one of comparable grade(i think so anyway ) take it this is one of the more common mint marks?
  4. pff ill have to change my name then second time someone has said that, changed it to avoid confusion i think ive not done too bad for a 22 year old student still to sort the prices out and a bit of the layout but almost finished it now! you will notice the Henry VIII groat and who helped me purchase that
  5. dem proof like hammered coins
  6. as i said problem with that is if you put a bid too big(not sure what the cut off is) ebay gives you some notice that you need to call them for safety bla bla bla bla what one did you bid on lets have a war
  7. i put a bid of £100,000 on it so someone didn't end up getting scammed in the end until i realized ebay has in place a bidding cap where i could no longer bid on any more items after this(weird) there's another 5 guineas for sale most likely from the same guy if anyone is interested (stolen from London coins I think)
  8. i wanted it badly but not a chance i was going to pay that well done at any rate chris
  9. double lucky finding the coins already slabbed and graded by pcgs
  10. thanks for your help ill check with the weight tomorrow, are the royal mail able to give out that information on technically someone other than my sent package?
  11. So it finally happened after 4 years of ebaying. Been worried about it for a while and luckily has never happened to me for over 500 items i have purchased over ebay but today i received a package that was empty(was meant to contain 2 sovereigns). i tend to buy dubious items from ebay(hoping for profit and to buy more coins) and have in the past bought many items that turned out to be scams but the seller did not go to the effort of sending an empty envelope special delivery. i have got quite a defense here where i felt the package to begin with Firstly it felt way too light (i have had many sovereigns before and this felt nowhere near heavy enough) so the weight on the receipt(i weighed the envelope and note inside and it weighed(12g rounded up, would need to be double+some if it had 2 sovereigns in it) will be inaccurate to what it is meant to be and will match up with the empty envelope that i measured. Secondly because i felt a bit suspicious about the package(no weight at all inside it) i recorded myself opening the package to find nothing inside. What i am wondering from anyone that reads this is has anyone experienced this before and what sort of tips do you have for the best way to get my refund on this? Thanks for any help
  12. Website is in the initial stages not really done anything yet can change name if names are too similar (rp isnt really key just my name really so can remove that if it causes confusion) waiting on those LED lights mentioned in a thread about a month ago before i start taking pictures of stuff (Ikea ones but 5x cheaper from china, well see how it goes ) will be some good stuff for sale i'm just worrying about prices and grades i list as i dont want to make myself look silly
  13. Im guessing these 2 guys are pretty well known for buying British coins? they along the lines of a British version of P.Newman or something ?
  14. did you count the proof sets, currency sets/BU sets also?
  15. i managed to snipe(buy it now spipe) an executive and delux proof set there for just under £100, hope the craze lasts just long enough for me to flip them
  16. i managed to find mine in circulation ind you i went through about £1000 worth of 50p coins and only got 1 so kinda rare i guess?

  21. And that was just a normal circulated example. The London Coin co was selling BU examples at £24 earlier today (as reported in the Guardian article), they have just re-listed them at £79.95! haha this is quite amusing when even London coin co. get their prices too cheap, fished mine out the coin cabinet and it is listed too
