Having changed direction AGAIN, does anybody want this error 2014 10p for the fiver I gave for it? The images are shocking, I cannot photograph shiny coins at all, but it is BU (arguably, of course ). It was also photographed in a coin flip, which has a 'speckly' window (the whole batch of flips were like it...damned annoying). Anyway, leave it with you!
I've been a couple of times! Let's just say at least one grade if you are distance buying! Can be some bargains if you are in the room, due to blind bidding being somewhat reduced. When did Laurie die? Just trying to establish whether my visits were pre or post his passing?
Why you should never attempt to grade hammered coins! Here's a "BOLD VF" from Baldwin's! http://www.baldwin.co.uk/coins/great-britain/hammered-british/richard-ii-penny-york-rare-in-vf.html?usrc=1
Wow, good on ya, Stuntman! Never ever begrudged a man the trappings, even from the perspective of being skint! This is the one of the wonderful insights that pastimes like this brings, where people of all walks of life can meet at a common point! History and coins are a pretty good meeting place for Caymans and £1k Hyundais! Brilliant! Love coins!
Hah, ha, yes, never getting anywhere fast, that's very much me! ? I always fancied an Alpha, but would probably go for a sporty Jag if I had the money! If! O' if! We're hammering a Hyundai Getz into the ground at the minute, so who am I to comment on prestige cars?
Lovely tribute, Peter, you're a great man! Stay safe out there, m'friend! I for one would love to see some pictures of Mrs Peter on this thread. You can never have too much of a good thing on a coin forum!
Hi Jason, We don't have a large community of Roman collectors on here, and I do know at least one of them to be inactive at the moment. Hopefully someone will come along with some information for you? Didn't want you to feel ignored!
With specific regard to the distinction between UNC and a/UNC, you'd really have to say that UNC is UNC, but a/UNC is better than GEF but not quite going the full 9 yards to UNC
Aren't all the 2015 coins bearing the new effigy, I'm definitely missing out if both effigies are on the 2015 coins? I haven't actually checked the busts, but have been salting away any and all new 2015 coins in collectable condition, as I did for 2014 and 2013! A fractionally more sensible loose change "pot" akin to the one everybody else has stored in a bells whiskey bottles!
