  1. I am not impressed with the Baldwins offerings, and find them to be a little aloof. Baldwins always had and still have the "me expert, you dickhead" approach to dealing with ordinary collectors.
  2. Stop by their booth some time, and ask to see their copper/bronze Pennies! I don't think you will find much. btw...the coins you are referring too, are the upper level type items Steve mentioned. Being a Copper/Bronze Collector, I am not impressed with the Baldwins offerings, and find them to be a little aloof.
  3. Steve Hill told me that Baldwins don't deal much in Copper/Bronze...more the upper level coins only! Every time I see Baldwins here in the USA, they have a few Pennies, but not many.
  4. Half English, and Half Scottish...both currently British! Ha,Ha...
  5. Thanks Chris. It's a big day for us...even though it marks our separation from England, we still remain strong allies.
  6. http://www.cccsat.org/node/15255 The above is the 1st Marine Division Band, playing in the Independence Day Parade, in Oceanside, California. Oceanside is the Pacific Beach front Home of the Division Headquarters...Camp Pendleton, CA. Happy 4th of July to all!
  7. I added a link on my Facebook page. Nice job on the website!
  8. Thanks Nordle...good planning!
  9. I've never had a problem with PayPal so far, touch wood. One of the things that is not generally known...If the buyer has less than a 50 feedback, then the insurance from eBay/Paypal is only $200, not the value of the merchandise! Also there is a $25 deductable, so if you sold a coin for $3000, and the buyer had only 46 feedback, then you would receive $175 (200-25), for loss of the coin!...surprise.....
  10. How funny is this ad?..... He must be using a translation program to convert from Spanish!

  14. I like the Provenance...."A old London Collection"
  15. Exactly, the LC one i just quoted looks worse than the ebay one The coin is EF...seldom do you see that coin with as good hair definition as it has on the obverse...which is a used sov. die! I think the valuation would be 550-700 someplace. The coin has some circulation marks, and some small stains on the reverse, but is still a rare coin in that condition. IMHO...Ha,Ha Are you at risk of confusing rarity and grade Bob? Perish the thought! Probably...but maybe not! LOL!...

  17. Judging from his BIN pricing (usually 2-3 times value) he will not be letting that 1844 go for anything near the current price. It is a nice coin though!
  18. http://www.irishcoins.com Del Parker...he has been around forever...good guy. I missed a BU 1943 1/2Crown, by waiting to long to make up my mind, and he sold it. $3,000...I'll probably never get another chance at that price.
  19. "Open Office 4.0" by Apache (formerly Sun Microsystems), is a Word/Excel look alike, and is free...that's right...free! It will recognize excel and lotus files, and will do everything Microsoft Office will do. It will work with all MS programs from XL through Win8. I use it all the time. It has all the features of MS Office. (excel, word,Presentation, Drawing, Database, and more)
  20. My wife's Uncle Frank, landed on Omaha Beach, with the U.S. Army Infantry, to begin the liberation of France!
  21. Gov. Edger Whitcomb of Indiana, survived the death march at Bataan. General McArthur on the other hand, left with his family, in the dead of the night, just prior to the U.S. Garrison falling to the Japanese.
  22. I'd say it is worth at least 100 pounds, maybe more. 249 might be a little high, but it is open to offers, I think! Thanks for the first refusal! ha,Ha!
