  1. Yes sorry Derek, its from a dealers gallery picture and that was its size unfortunately
  2. In nice condition, although is that a spot of verdigris near the I of IND ? Is it lustrous ? Lustre is so difficult to assess from photographs I find. I guess everyone has a different collecting experience, it's just that as I come near to signing of the GV series in AU 85% lustre +, it's interesting to reflect on how easy each coin has been to hunt down compared to the projected rarity figures one encounters in Freeman et al. OK I haven't turned over every stone in the world looking and I've also been collecting the EVII and old heads in parallel, so there is absolutely nothing scientific about my observations, but here goes: Leaving varities to one side for now, I expected 1922, 1926 and 1934 to be difficult and so they have proved. 1915 and 1916 were so difficult I compromised on condition, and 1920 and 1928 just haven't seemed to turn up for me, yet. I'm having a struggle not compromising on condition, must stay strong Not quite sure about the verdigris 400 as the coin is in the vaults of the bank. Here is another 1928, hopefully you can see the picture, not BU but a very good looking coin, dealers gallery picture. Could you men check out my last post in coin aquisition of the week and give me your opinions if the coin is the same as i'd bought please, i personally don't think it is
  3. A better picture would greatly help, but the REV of the medal is generally on reverses of George III and Victoria Shillings, probably the standard motto of the time. I'm not saying it's a shiiling etc, just that the motto often appears on those coins. Please try and capture a better picture if you can
  4. Thanks for that. does look like the same coin. Still don't know how i got them though lol
  5. If you supply some pictures of the Pennies it would be better to judge the grades, maybe put 6 side by side and take a picture of the OBV and REV then do another 6 and so on
  6. Lets not forget the 1902 Low tide penny, wasn't mentioned, it is a rarer variety. Also 1918 and 1919 KN, only the dates were mentioned but without the KN
  7. And the other
  8. Was clearing out the garage today and came across 2 coins i didn't realise i had. Any of the hammered experts out there identifiy these, really have no idea what they are.
  9. 1st of all, welcome to the site, 2nd of all they should'nt be stored in sandwich bags, if there are any rarities in there then all those coins inside will be knocking against each other causing all sorts of nicks and dents, so my advice would be to seperate them first of all. My second suggestion would be to seperate them into monarchs and denomination, then we can work from there.
  10. It was'nt an Ebay coin, it was a dealers auction. A lot of coins look better when scanned, but i think the penny had really good detail all round
  11. Thanks Mat, but unfortunately i know what it went for, and losing out on it for 60 bucks is irritating, it was a real nice coin, don't know how long it will be before another comes along in that high grade
  12. Then i lost out on this 1822 sov, i bid €880 it went for €1025, one is not a happy bunny
  13. By only €60, how irritating My god it was nice, it sold for €460 i bid 400 thinking it was good enough, obviously nottttttttttttttttttttttttt arggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    Iphone

Bob, telling Red that you have an Iphone 3G i think will go straight over his head. But this app does sound good if someone could develop it, they might make some good cash there at 99p a pop for download
  15. http://www.coinsgb.com/Error_Coins/Error_coins.html A link on error coins
  16. Not sure if its a bargain yet, but just got this on ebay for a €1
  17. Just wondering what the biggest bargain you ladies have had for a coin, perhaps you were thinking "i'm going to pay 500 pounds for this and actually got it for 100, just an example, so what coin made you smile inside because you paid wayyyyyy less than expected. Maybe you can post a picture of the coin to?
  18. They don't look so bad to me. What do you mean "how should you go about selling them"?
  19. post some picture results
  20. I was gonna stick 75 GBP on it until i saw the last 30 seconds
  21. So did anyone bid on it and win? From 67 GBP in the last minute to 255 GBP
  22. Am still hurting at selling that damn coin
  23. Peckris, i tend to agree with you about the staged moon landing etc, but what's intriguing is that date of 1933 AGAIN!!!! and Nessie plus the 1933 Penny. I think we have just begun our own X-Files for the date 1933. Just as a side note, i think RED is about to blow. Tin hats gents
