  1. You'll be fine with anything listed as greater than 99.5% purity - that will be the minimum specification, and wont leave any residue. AR grade - 100% pure for analytical purposes is unlikely to be listed on eBay and is way over the top for our usage

    1913 pennies

I've got an average circulated one already, just need to keep looking as very few 20th C varieties are ever listed as such

    1913 pennies

I'm after a decent 1+B, got the other three in reasonable grades
  4. Type descriptions NB type numbers are not the same as coin photo numbers Far too late to try and work a matrix out, not convinced so far David
  5. Best I can do with rocks
  6. Helmets & plumes
  7. Here are the remaining coins' dates for comparison, I've not yet matched these up with the reported types I'll make a similar montage of the plumes and rocks later
  8. So here's coins 1 & 5 from Pete's pictures, corresponding to types 3 & 4
  9. That's as far as I've got so far, will report my findings, if any, tomorrow David
  10. Me too, please David
  11. Interesting. Looks like we have a clear progression of die damage in our combined examples
  12. here's what he wrote mine appears to be the barred 5 he describes. It's the 1920 filled 2 that he shows 3 stages of fill for, he also lists a filled 2 for 1921 but no illustration
  13. Another ugly one, but only 99p - finally got a filled 5 1915 penny David
  14. An interesting article on sovereignty, from the IN standpoint, Here
  15. EU citizens have a right to live and work here, so it's muddying the waters to talk of illegal immigrants How many of the million Britts living in Spain are able to speak or write in Spanish?
  16. I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me we should work within the system to amend the law, throwing away legal protection of the basic rights of millions is not the correct way to deal with a handful of scumbags
  17. As an internationalist by nature, I'm definitely in the IN camp, but I'm seriously depressed by the low standard of debate from both sides, not helped by the media's obsession with personalities rather than the issues
  18. Neither the European Convention on Human Rights nor the European Court of Human Rights are EU bodies. The UK was signed up to them (and in the case of the Convention largely created it) before it ever joined the EU and the UK would still be a party to them even if it left the EU.

  20. Can you post a picture of the other side please?
  21. The fact is that the UK has a Labour shortage from the EU. It's such a shortage that we also have to import labour from other countries outside the EU as well through the Home Office Points Based Immigration System. In the UK our NHS, hospitality, service, and farming sectors (amongst others) depend on migrants from the EU and the rest of the world. Without them our economy would simply fail. There are 2.2m UK citizens living and working in other EU countries, and around 2.4m people from other EU countries living and working in the UK. Thats a net difference in the UK of just 200,000 people. Not exactly being over whelmed in the UK with a population of nearly 70 million people are we? So presumably for the sake of the UK economy they don't want to reduce immigration this way. So what is it they want? BUT THEY ARE TAKING ALL THE BENEFITS shout the Brexiteers. This is also not the case. For each £1 taken out in welfare and benefit payments by EU migrants they contribute £1.34 to HM Treasury in taxes, not only covering their own welfare costs but contributing to Brits on benefits too.
  22. A double headed trick penny described a "brockage", don't you just love shill bidding
  23. I thought I might put on Ebay as "RARE @@@ Mint Error (Polo variety)"
  24. Agreed! I have 3 1875H gap fillers The middle one that looks as though it's been sand-blasted is a Gouby 1875 Hf, with recut obverse lettering So not likely to find an upgrade anytime soon on my budget
  25. For those who like mint errors
