  1. of course the pennys days are numbered, inflation will see it off like it saw off the farthing and halfpennys
  2. they could replace them with 99p coins problem is, there are so many pennys they are not even worth collecting
  3. actually mint darkened coins do show some sort of lustre, it still has the shine see my 1908 i love UNC grade, but i never use it, whats the point, its been in cerculation even if its taken directly from the till from the bag directly from the bank from the mint
  4. i would say thats UNC, very hard to see problems on mint darkened farthings though. i would say its accurate this to me is UNC as i dont see any wear. but something in the lettering and this one, again, to the eye it seems to be worse then the 1908 but on the photo it looks great
  5. i dont believe in BU either, i have no issues with toning, its a natuaral proccess, a coin can still tone but be UNC, it should be based on the wear in my view, i have a couple of coins that to the eye look like unlustred coins, BUT you shine it in the light it has that reflective effect from the lustre, and the key is, little wear, it doesnt detract from the grade in my oppinion
  6. cartwheel whats? never knew such things existed
  7. i had a look through my average curculated 1892's, and I found one that seems to share the exact size date numerals as an 1891 all numerals are the same size on it, shame the wear in the date is near the 2, i might have had a look there.
  8. best one i could find, bar a few 1895-1910 bit more detail on both sides then photo makes out, massive die crack going from E in ONE all the way to trident too, guess a good strike caused a strain
  9. i saw the 8 numeral is smaller, but it seems that way on a few others, but the 1 is definatly wider then normal
  10. to the eye the 1 in 1892 looks larger (it isn't this illusion is caused by the fat its far chnkier) i know not to worry about date numerals too much, but its getting on my nerves
  11. LCW under bust i have, but the picture is rubbish if you look carefuly you can clearly see the letters
  12. my 1919 as you can see wear shows where detail is, full helmit was a probabilty as well as a great head of hair
  13. i know the top one is hungarian
  14. yea and on 20p's lol
  15. awesome, uncirculated decimals how did you manage that O.o
  16. i see the streaking on the cupro-nickel coins as well.
  17. interstingly it seems to pop in in 1953
  18. the gem of my farthing collection... was £6 lol
  19. you guys have so much money though a couple more 1728 6D plumes (scarce type) for 25p 1853 EF farthing (over 52?) for £6.19
