the weight in UK is a Half Guinea, the French equivilant is the 1 pistol, earliest it could be is William III, although the style of the engraved text looks to be Georgean, so possibly as late as George II not found any referance the the marks under bust, seens + as well as a star.

I stumbled across this oddity a few months ago, which may or may not fit into this thread French coin weight, however after some digging it turns out this was converted to 10s 6D weight for use over here.

see quite a charles I few Shillings on Ebay. having a nightmare on there though ATM, pictures are not working properly, but better then the one i got recently they are around the price I paid for this one, which btw was over my usual amounts missing out on loads myself recently, just gone checking my ebay for fail after fail, on things I want, William III Halfpennies, dunno why but bids are not increseaing in Increments they just spike from like starting price to whatever they sell for right at the end. only a few days after landing multiple bargain priced stuff

Ebay should fix thier security instead of constantly tinkering with everything, I swear something changes on there every day, whether it be the buttons or page layouts...
