Much rarer... I believe 2 known.. Again, I'm on my cell phone and don't have ready access to the information , so correct me if I'm wrong.. but I believe a CGS certified example sold at a London Coins auction for upwards of 20k within the past few years or so...

If you examine the images you will note that the normal 3 has a straight downward stroke to the central diagonal line whereas the open 3 has a slight upward curve to it.. Additionally the normal 3 has a small downstroke at the top left end of the upper line of the 3 whereas the open 3 had a spikelike downstroke slightly to the right of the left end of the upper line of the 3 instead. One must be very cautious when examining worn specimens as the upper end of the tail of the bottom stroke of the 3 is sometimes well worn and often barely visible. In these instances the diagonal of the 3 appears to point to a space as in the open 3 but in reality it is actually pointing to the well worn end of the 3. All examples like this should be examined under high magnification.....

Neither is an open 3

To hell with washers. Based on what the wife got tonight for an unc G5 penny, I shall be throwing anything up to EF (and probably beyond) in the bin. It simply isn't worth the effort to buy them for listing when they sell for a couple quid.Welcome to the wonderful World of ebay, its been poo for quite some time, everyone wants something for nothing Agreed. When you receive just over a tenner for an unc G5 penny, an EF G5 penny and a presentable 1913 halfcrown, it isn't inspiring. Having said that at least it isn't as bad as having to send something abroad for more in postage than you will receive thanks to ebay's option of flat cost postage to all, or collection only. At least via the website I can charge for postage accordingly. Where's the incentive to send someone a free item and also take a hit on the postage? Tonight I have the privilege of paying about a fiver for postage, but only receive 4 back after fees thanks to flat rate. OK, mea culpa, I should have told the wife to block overseas buyers, but it is nice to offer things to everybody. You either frighten off UK buyers by inflating the postage, or frighten off UK buyers by clearly starting it above its value. Obviously neither is likely to sell. From now on, only things worth a quid or less to be listed. No overseas buyers, and if it's worth more than a quid, it doesn't go on eBay. Why bother making a loss? I think I made £2 overall tonight after all wins and losses, and that's without spending a penny on listing.This is probably why I have to constantly ask to be allowed to bid or to find someone in GB to bid/buy for me and the forward to me in the USA..... Frustrating....

And the Half-Pennies remain the forgotten middle child........

Hello Mark, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's an obverse 2, reverse D, Freeman 10. (Obverse 2, based on the distance between the top of the bust and the linear circle, the colon between D & G points to a tooth, the position of LC Wyon on the truncation, the position of the ribbon ends etc.) Thanks for the corroboration..... I know what my gut told me, but couldn't be sure on a small screen..

I'm looking at the coin on my phone... small image, but my impression is that it is an obverse 2.... Back of head away from B front leaf points to colon I think I see LCWYON on bust.. I won't say "final answer" till I look at a large screen... Maybe someone else can check too...

I concur with Accumulator's attribution..... It is indeed an obverse 6 reverse G F-33...

Whatever reference you use... It is only a GUIDE.... As it says in the title.. Use and interpret the data as you will based on your knowledge.... It is not, nor is it meant to be an absolute price list... only a price guide.. Use it for relative rarity etc... at least that's how I use them... Especially a massive guiide such as Krause.....

Not knowing anything about the series, but just using experience and common sense, I would conclude that it was a 3/2 ... Unless I missed a lot in reviewing the overdate

I need the 1895, 1896, and 1900 Earls Wheel medallions in bronze.... If anyone has any of those.... I have the 1900 in white metal..... Not sure what metals were struck in what years.... Only that they were struck from 1895-1906 inclusive.... Don't know if there were multiple manufacturers in a given year, or multiple metals in a given year.... Or if the manufacturers and/or metals changed from year to year.....

I emailed it to myself, uploaded it to my website and tried installing it from there... Did NOT work... Redid the same with the original file.... 3.4 mg s still did not work... Tried opening it in calibre, would not open, said not a valid ZIP file..... I'm flummoxed for now, but I have other things to concern me for the next few days..... Then I'll readdress the issue or challenge, if you will....

Fellow dinosaur here..... my pet peeve is that the modern generation does not know how to communicate .... a generalization based on fact..... people don't talk, they text, tweet, email, broadcast on fb, etc..... I note that here and on some other forums, members express their opinions or information quite lucidly and logically... more importantly, they can be understood..... just an old dinosaur here...

Thanks Chris... Don't know if that will work though... I've already emailed to myself..and it didn't work.. unless the file is protected and can only be installed on the device that downloaded it..

Still a few ideas left... but will have to wait till I get home.. direct connct vis usb or maybe try uploading to my website and dl/install from there. worstcase buy another
