  1. Clipping was restricted to hammered coins which by design were very thin.
  2. Hi OG The correct weight is 28.2759g. I will try and find the link to the Chinese manufacturers site tonight.
  3. One of the coins the Chinese produce is the 1822 crown. I was looking at the Alibaba.com site the other day. There was an actual thread on Coincommunity recently.
  4. Dexy's a fine band. Whilst visiting a pal at Swansea Uni this was played in the student union bar and everybody jumped on the tables.
  5. Pick the best out of Tesco's although we never pay cash...They do have them. The local village PO is the best...but who wants this modern c***.?
  6. There is money to be made. Good luck to them. Thanks for pointing it out and well done on the research.

  11. I bought my acetone from ebay. Use a cotton bud on tarnished areas if you are not happy with the coin.Rinse and pat dry. Best to experiment on some junk coins. Don't clean your 6d...looks nice.
  12. Get yourself a couple of books Predecimal have a couple of learners books (bronze/silver) for a pittance.
  13. I remember going on courses the NW in the late 80's and the house prices were so cheap. I think Robbie Fowler bought half of Liverpool.
  14. I do like getting value. We have started using Aldi for shopping. The quality is good especially for fruit and veg. Same with coins I shop around. It is part of the enjoyment.
  15. Part of the attraction is tracking down coins for a good price. OK I have over paid sometimes but they were must haves.

    Coin Fair

I think the best fair is at the NEC bike museum. 12 fairs per year and a biggie every 3 months. We usually stay in Coventry in a decent hotel with a pool. A meal the night before and a good breakfast plus I'm back by 3pm and home by 6ish. I wish I was still single We all love our wives and daughters...don't we

    Coin Fair

Dealers are generally brilliant. Always talk there is a lot to learn. Enjoy the fair and do a couple of circuits. See what is about.I do love coin fairs.
