Yes...and if any of your coins develop it you are not storing them correctly.(probably damp conditions ie loft,garden shed etc) Remove affected coins immediately as it will spread.

Geordie...for US coins I can recommend the Red Book. I've got the 2005 spiral bound (2006 is out now) because so many are sold they are cheap to buy. Try Amazon.com (from memory about £8 incl postage)

If the coins are average circulated there is nothing worth more than say 50p....thats if you can find a buyer !!!! The medals though it could be different.

Very slight wear and grades of GEF or aUNC are (I was going to say Fine ) But I'm no perfectionist. There is nothing worse than buying a Choice gem BU which shadows its neighbours. Nice copper with a good strike suits me. What I dislike are carbon spots,finger prints,general stains and the dreaded dings.

If there were no marks on the obverse a grade GVF+ to NEF-. If I bought it at GVF I would be satisfied...but if I was going to spend a "couple of thou" on a coin it wouldn't be 20C silver

These were often holed for watch chains etc....& worth less than 50p. A genuine holed guinea for £12 is unlikely....the scrap value of gold is going to be around £60.

I need to improve my "French" understanding and reading...yes !!!!! the sources are a tad difficult. The cross overs and low countries/regions would seem to make an interesting study...a simple family tree would be useful.
