  1. This is so confusing... 1248-50 but actually 20th century...
  2. That's great news! What sorts of coins have piqued your interest this time around?
  3. Unfortunately this is a very modern and poor quality replica. Sorry that this probably isn't the news you were hoping for Hayley.
  4. Looks to be Henry V if anything.
  5. Very rare Henry IV penny... Very rare alright! Not many lack that much detail on the obverse...
  6. Penny collector, but only hammered silver ones.
  7. The rare 'double beard' variety.
  8. Does anyone else think that this coin makes Charles look like he's got a wig on? Or perhaps a receding hairline?
  9. Well, there are viruses out there that target Macs, e.g. The Flashback Trojan, but I do agree that far more target PCs and, as you say, keep many techies in business.
  10. Precisely why I've built my own desktops over the years - it means I can have exactly what I want for less than a pre-built one.
  11. I use AVG and have never had this problem, I do know of other programs that really do hide such additions in small print and obscure Ts&Cs. Just be wary of any ticked or unticked boxes.
  12. Glad it now works! Nothing's wrong with it, but from the appearance it looked like Windows '97 or similar, so I began to think that the advice given wouldn't be relevant. I, personally, would stick with Windows 7.
  13. True, but that's rare. I got a cut half of Henry I for 50p in a bulk lot but unfortunately many lots nowadays are just exceptionally poor grade and common, e.g. this.
  14. Right, I didn't realise you were on a much earlier OS. It still makes me think you've got this set as your homepage. If you click on Tools at the top there should be an option (somewhere) to change your homepage.
  15. Press the Print Screen/PrtScn button on your keyboard. Open up a program such as Paint, paste and then Save As.
  16. "AVG search on newly opened Firefox tabs A few users mentioned on forums they would like to disable the AVG default new tab page (which includes AVG secure search). This feature could be disabled by clicking the Settings link in lower-right corner of the newly opened tab (note the Settings link is not available on home page, it is present only on newly opened tabs) as seen on this screenshot.- Modify the Show AVG Secure Search Box on new tabs in the browser as you wish.- Click OK to save your configuration."
  17. In which case I'm wholly confused as to what the problem is. Are you able to post a screenshot otherwise I'm not sure we can help from your descriptions alone.
  18. I was under the impression you were talking about the search box (delineated in red, below) on your Firefox browser rather than the webpage.
  19. Right, so it's a page not a box? There should be the word Firefox in a gold box at the top left. Click on this, select options and then enter whichever webpage you want your Home Page to be in the box provided.
  20. Be very careful when installing updates or new programs as many will try and change your internet settings. It's often just unticking a box that prevents this.
  21. By right clicking on the picture of a house in the top right of Firefox and left clicking on Customize you should be able to reinstate whichever buttons you need. As for your little box of AVG, there should be a small arrow next to it which, when clicked, will give a drop down menu. You can then click 'Manage Search Engines' and remove AVG or whatever from the list.
  22. Do you mean this list? As that should've brought back your taskbar at the bottom. If it hasn't then try pressing Ctrl and Esc. Perhaps it's just hiding from you.
  23. As I expected, you've restarted Explorer and so it all should function as per normal from now on. With regard to the AVG Search, if you now have your Start button back go to 'Control Panel', 'Programs and Features' and then select AVG Search (or whatever it might be called) and then click 'Uninstall'. If that's successful then your Firefox should be back to normal.
  24. If you followed Task Manager and started Explorer then it should automatically run when you next turn on your computer. In 'Libraries' you should be able to access your hard drives which should have all of your other files on, including Firefox. Although I suspect that if you can get to 'Libraries' then you should have your taskbar and normal Start button as before.
