Hello Coys55 and many thanks for the interest..... I'm now wondering if its a Counterfeit coin? its 17mm across, my scales are the kitchen ones and aren't sensitive enough to weigh, it was the pellets that first had me wondering...many thanks "H"

errrrmmm Ive not managed to find much out about this one... could it be a half Penny? 😕 I did go right through my spinks book and the arrangement of pellets I couldn't find on any of the coins...... none of my already Identified coins haven't been able to offer any information as to what it may be..... any help will be greatly appreciated. as always👍

Ahhhh, now that's interesting, to be honest I Identified the coin to be a Charles I, Half Groat, 1638-39........the Briot's Mint came about as it doesn't mention the Tower mint and I took the Anchor to be Briot's..... just adding to the novice confusion the Anchor maybe Upright, Inverted, Horizontal to left or right.....it does however (and quite correctly) it mentions that S2856A as a milled coin by Briot's Mint 2 pages further on.....which i didn't see as I was looking at Hammered only coins. many thanks Rob for the correction 🫡👍Cheers "H"

Charles I, Half Groat, 1638-39 Briots Mint

Ive been putting these off for awhile... I'm still working out what's what with the Hammered coins...... Edwards still problematic......... 😕 so here go's Elizabeth I, 2nd Issue, mint mark Martlet, 1560-61 Elizabeth I, 7th Issue, mint mark 2, 1602 rubbed faces but worth a show 👍

found today.... worth a show... 1840, Christian VIII, 1 Species Daler, Denmark 1835, Ferdinand 1st, Austria (Rarity) Homage in Vienna 1800, Charles IV, 2 Reales Mexico

1½ Pence - Victoria 1st portrait; Colonial issue 1843 ....errmmm Lamination errors ? caught it by looking at different angles... the reverse side seems fine other than the out of line date numbers ...I believe that some over dates are common with some of the Colonial dates....👍

way back in the pre computer days these coins were dismissed by collectors / hoarders alike,...... I was told to hang on to them as they still had a silver content, these as they turned were stashed and forgotten about ... I seem to think they cost pence whilst sorting out I have discovered x 2 of interest...possibly rarity's ??? Victorian 1820, Canadian Provenances 20 Cents Newfoundland Victorian 1901, Cyprus, 9 Piastres, (minted for 1 year only) ............👍

2x groat.....four pence coin....with faults ? 1840 the No, 4 seem to be lager the the rest of the date 1854, the No. 5 has mis shape at the top, the trident has a line across near the hand....

so now side by side its begins to become clearer 👍

recently I was shown a coin that was Spanish. it had a ghost out line of Victoria..... the explanation was that was over stamped, one further question,, how did it get the curved pattern next to the shield from? 😕 many thanks one and all, its really interesting to learn more about the coins I have lurking to be found. flaws an all.....!

1 Shilling 1917 - George III (New coinage) unusual for my hoard to find a relatively very good condition coin, !?!?!? a few dings to the face area but no real signs of wear..... would this be a VF ? 🤔

Whilst sorting other Victorian Crowns out that I have I found this amongst them.. its a 1 Thaler, 1757 1st Bust .L. made out of .833

Still putting things in order......and thought this worthy of a show and tell.... Ive had a match box with really small coins,...Boot Fairs mainly and were dismissed as being foreign and found without any interest by others.... I recall someone said they are silver... so I was picking them up for pennies and stashed to sort out another day.... the years fly by and this Standard circulation coin of Canada .... noted today there's date number 8 below is another 8......Is this a true Rarity??? have I found a scares coin? interestingly its been in circulation and never been kept, imagine it is its early days.... wow all the same its unusual to me. ☺️Enjoy "H"
