  1. D&P = developing and printing, a quaint thing we used to do (or for most - have done) when photos were dependent on a strip of emulsion which, when exposed, had to be plunged into various baths of chemicals thus producing a 'negative' of the photographs. Then this had to be projected onto light sensitive paper using said enlarger, after which the paper was plunged into more chemical baths, then there was your picture!
  2. One of them looks like an enlarger lens (as in D&P films)
  3. If you decide to sell please send me a PM
  4. By then the crown was £5 not 25p (if we're talking 1990s)
  5. The gulf stream is slowly moving mainly if not entirely due to the melting of Arctic ice. However we will never get Canada weather as our weather prdominantly is subject to Atlantic westerlies which means much milder, damper climate.
  6. A good choice of reference. If you get very interested in bronze you could add Gouby (like Freeman but with more recent discoveries).
  7. Are you talking about ESC? If so, the answer is 'unlikely' - Davies is the expert for post-1816 silver, while ESC is the go-to for early milled.
  8. Sadly, during a 5 minute scoot to the bus, it decided to absolutely pour down (12:45) and I got soaked. The only consolation is that in the other 3 segments of the journey, it didn't rain.
  9. It will appear when you're not looking at it
  10. No transport available to or from my therapy session tomorrow. The bus is a 5 minute scoot away so praying no heavy rain or thunder...
  11. What do they mean, "the only one of its kind known"? The only 1990 20p struck on the wrong planchet? Quite probably. But what about other 'known' coins struck on the wrong planchet? They are all unique misstrikes and therefore only of interest to those who collect such things. Is there anyone here even remotely interested?
  12. I'd be gobsmacked tbh - there's no shortage of coins struck on the wrong planchet. £100 seems nearer the mark.
  13. It is thought that experimentation with that had already occurred by 1923, that is *IF* the 1922 penny with similar reverse to 1927 was actually struck in 1922 (my own thought is that it could well have been struck later - to strike a few pennies with a date of 1923/24/25 could have been problematic if they got out).
  14. Milk, plain, or white?
  15. I searched for "field image" and there was nothing relevant that came up. I'd suggest that if your site still apparently functions ok, I wouldn't worry about mysterious messages from Google.
  16. Ah, but is it roofless?
  17. The local Cote Brasserie only accepts card payments and have done ever since after the first lockdown. I'm hoping I enoy a good meal there and then their card machine breaks down! I don't carry cash ... I did once unexpectedly go to B&Q. I looked around, wondered where I was for several minutes, then went up to the counter and asked for a packet of frozen peas. And four candles...
  18. He says it's BUNC - surely it's spelled BUNK, which itself must be a typo for JUNK.
  19. If you look under your profile (on the left) you'll see the total number of posts you've made. Above it, with a green circle with a + in it, shows how many of your posts have been liked.
  20. That's a ludicrous price. You shouldn't pay more than around £25 (at most) for a BU 1938.
  21. I think the .webp is the problem - if you could repost the links just as .jpg it won't insist I download them (I tried removing the .webp but nothing doing)
  22. minus 8 out of 10?
  23. S.G.Onions is the person behind my Albert PoW 12 PENCE MAKE ONE SHILLING (must be, as the initials SGO are on it.)
  24. Fascinating - though they must have known that it was to be the new 20p, introduced the following year.
