Been a difficult Christmas capped ( I thought ) this morning by finding out my car's turbo needs replacing. Great. Then........got news of Neil Innes dying. This has really knocked me back. I met him four times after his shows- such a lovely lovely man. My first album was History of the Bonzos ..... Anyone else feel kicked in the stomach?

Curiously, like many tomes that have a hell of a lot of work hidden behind a simple façade, it's actually quite interesting, when one is curious about 'how things wear out', often involving denominations that have never appealed.... Strange thing, grading. "Eye appeal" or "better in the hand" or "toning" etc. etc. could make all this a referenceless minefield, whereas this books is a good attempt to create a reference frame that's needed.

I have the grading book by Derek Francis Allen and I like it.

Hmmm...I've been toying with putting my odds and sods of pennies into some of these folders- the worn ones don't drop out, and you can see both sides - anyone have views on these or any going spare?

My next door neighbours have two huge gold chairs that they sit in over the holiday period, in their hideously decorated lounge, thinking they are the King and Queen of Christmas. When Star Wars came to Kidderminster, the big sign above the Cinema read for a short period "ARS WARTS".... In 2012 the Grand Turk pub in Kidderminster became 'The Rank Turd' for a bit... ......and they greased the lamppost outside the Bewdley Brassrubbing Centre years ago because people kept nicking the b and the r.

I the background of the above pic, you can see our old very missed Passat. I worked out the anagram of 'Passat Tdi' - nearly caused a few accidents..... Any more cars you can do something similar to?

She's next to my 93 year old mother, who is losing the plot, so there is a near-perfect storm 100 miles away all the time, that just gets worse, and what can I do about it? is it just me wot's going through a time cell where everything doesn't work, or is generally this year a pain in the arse? Christmas is usually a runaround from hell, with no bonus points, but this year... Eurostars cancelled, no emails where I was working in Paris - thanks BT.... No emails back at the hotel either- BT claiming that particular hotel was hotspot for spam.....! Had to hover outside cafes to use their wifi.... I'm trying to get home now from kidderminster, having zoomed up to help very ill sister sort her computer out, and lo and behold- engine warning light and no power. Stuck in a mcdonald's on their wifi so I don't go insane waiting for the RAC - 3 hours plus- after logging onto Mcdonalds wifi by basically giving them all my information, so I'm expecting a future consisting entirely of spam aimed at fat kids.... Christmas hampers. Yes it does. Grrr....
